It makes no sense. If God is truly the Alpha and Omega, he decides what the sins are, who can repent, etc. These human aspects of religion make no sense to me. How can the ALmighty not be all mighty?

God sacrifice His son Jesus so we could have eternal life. If you read the book of Genesis Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden. There was no sin. They were forbidden to eat from the Tree Of Life because it gave them knowledge. Which gave them the sense to know what was right and what is wrong. God didn't want to control us like robots so He made them leave the Garden Of Eden. Now that when sin came up in the world and Satan was running free. Anything that not God like is a sin. I know if I shot a person its a sin because I'm taking a life. If I help a person in need our working for God. He almighty because He give us choices and He can deliver us from anything. All the sins that we have done on this Earth would land everybody in hell. Jesus sacrifice His lift and pay the world so I can go to have. Read Genesis and the book of Luke. I hope it will help you. I'll pray for you.

I'd like to know the answer too. So far I got following explanations:

- God is not "alpha and omega - there are laws that even God must obey/

- God the father had to do it b/c Holy Spirit won't change the law.

- God found it easier to sacrifice his son than to change the law.

Because he doesn't care. He's tyrannical, childish, and foolish. Unlike some other religions, Christianity was developed to control people. It was developed for people to be powerless and afraid, to learn to "turn the other cheek" like Christ taught and did. God is much like most kings in history; if he has power, control, luxuries, slaves, what does he care about others for? You know, Ivan the Terrible killed his own son because he had a phobia of being pursued and dethroned, so he killed hime to be safe. Besides, if God loved all people, like it was said, there would be no Hell, and no room in Heaven.

To show his unconditional love for us. Jesus was perfect and the shedding of his blood has washed away all of our sins if we confess them & repent.
He loves us so much that he sent his only son to earth to die. This was to show us that I will do anything for you, man, which I have created that I will send my son to you, knowing that he will die at your hands. That is the kind of love God wants us to have for him.

God is the Alpha & Omega; The beginning & the End. No one made him do it, he chose to do it because of love. Everyone can repent. Everyone has free will and needs to be able to God I'm sorry, please forgive, hence repentance.

The Almighty is Almighty. Have you ever heard that Jesus prayed to his father to change his plans? HE DIDN'T WANT TO DIE. But he did. That is why he was sent in the first place.

Would you send your son somewhere to die, knowingly???

properly? is that this no longer blasphemy? commonly obviously our lord god did spoil all humanity, thinking the actual incontrovertible truth that maximum humanity loved devil more suitable than God. yet there became once a mass translation of human beings that did love God, then it got here to bypass that Noah became the in ordinary words one. for years noah preached, and no individual listened, after the flood sodom and gomorah were following teh same paths of idolatry and devil worship that the former generations did, so it became a short delicate up after the truth. If adult men ought to perfect turn a procedures from secret combos the plan of salvation ought to no longer ought to need to be restarted with in ordinary words some believers. .And the international can be a a lot extra non violent area. and efficient Jesus became once the prophesied messiah, regardless of the indisputable fact that even the jews ought to no longer settle for him once you evaluate that that they had their own devil worshippers and pretend prophets. hence that is written we are born into sin, and certain, that's the artwork and glory of jesus to provide salvation to adult men and at last everlasting existence and immortality.

Have you ever seen a petulant child, kicking, hitting, and screaming at their parent, "I hate you! I wish you were dead! Leave me alone! I hate you!..." ?

God the Father, put his Son as a substitute, in a position for people to vainly abuse.

It was a passion play, for our benifit. Those people, on that day, took it to the limit. And for a brief moment in human history, a few of them were able to stop blaming God for the horrible situation the world was in. In that moment, a spark was struck, a flame was lit. The Apostle Paul was blinded by the light of that Holy Flame...

get lit...pass the torch...

You would need to understand why it was necessary at all for God to allow himself to become human and take on our sins. The best arguement on this (I think) comes from St. Anselm "Cur Deus Homo"

The theory rests on three positions: that satisfaction is necessary on account of God's honor and justice; that such satisfaction can be given only by the peculiar personality of the God-man Jesus; that such satisfaction is really given by the voluntary death of this infinitely valuable person. The demonstration is, in brief, this. All the actions of men are due to the furtherance of God's glory; if, then, there be sin, i.e. if God's honour be wounded, man of himself can give no satisfaction. But the justice of God demands satisfaction; and as an insult to infinite honour is in itself infinite, the satisfaction must be infinite, i.e. it must outweigh all that is not God. Such a penalty can only be paid by God himself, and, as a penalty for man, must be paid under the form of man. Satisfaction is only possible through the God-man. Now this God-man, as sinless, is exempt from the punishment of sin; His passion is therefore voluntary, not given as due. The merit of it is therefore infinite; God's justice is thus appeased, and His mercy may extend to man. T

I have already answered this question elsewhere today so forgive me if I cut and paste?

This is coming from the oerspective of a non religious person. I subscribe to no one religion or way to follow the law. I just follow it as best I can and I understand and learn and grow in knowledge as I live my life... Right or wrong we will all know for certain when we die.

The birth, life and death and ressurection of Jesus Christ is the new covenant and all of the old ways are made new. He didn't HAVE to sacrifice His only Son. There needed to be a revision on the law. God is just before He is anythig else and a law is a law and because of Cain and Abel there had to be a blood sacrifice to atone for sin.

In the old testament, the only way to cleanse sin was through a blood sacrifice by a sacrificial lamb to have the animal take on your sin as in a scapegoat, a blood sacrifice to cover the sin of the repentent man and only a temple elder could perform the rite.

That is why they call Jesus the lamb of God and the Final sacrifice because with his death and ressurection he took the sins of everyone and gave his own blood in place of the lamb and his own life so that we would never have to experience of know spiritual death. Jesus made a choice... If He had decided to get up and walk away, God would have allowed it. Jesus prayed and trevailed until he cried blood, in the garden of gesthemine He said "Father if it be possible please let this cup pass from me." He made a choice... Just like God did, Judas did, just like the apostles made the choice to fall asleep when he asked them to stay up with him on the night before his death. Choices as results of laws and moral judgements we all make each one of us on our own understanding and maturity level. just like we all do every day everything is a choice!

We have to ask for forgivness because man has free will and once a man is forgiven. The only thing that can un-do it is denying God which was done... and then Jesus said tell me you love me three times to cover the three times that you denied me. and all was well again.

There is no unpardonable sin except for suicide because you die and cannot ask for your own forgivness. It is like saying Gods grace and mercy was not enough. You don't have to ask for anything, you don't have to believe in any of it, but it is like every other system and law in the universe, it consists of rules and laws that have to be abided by if you want to have the end result it holds. Why is that any more right or wrong than spitting into the wind. You don't do it because it'll come back and hit you in your mug. People actually respect and abide by riles and understand consequence and policing but they think God is a bully for being Just. I don't understand.

You cannot lose your salvation unless you don't want it anymore.
like an athiest... They don't want it, ... you aint gettin it. it's not magic. That's why it says "Ask, and ye shall recieve." That is actually biblical...

People think God imposes these things. Every single part of christianity is a choice. There are rules to this entire world... The rule of gravity, the law of cause and effect, yet Newton and Galellio are revered and Jesus Christ is hated and questioned. Personally I don't get it, but at the same time... each man is given a measure of faith. It is up to the indivisual what he decides to do with it. The christians shouldent have the right to impose their beliefs onto the atheists and the atheists shouldent have the right to say that anything is right or wrong when you have absolutely no way of proving anything... none of it until you die and that is a hell of a way to find out you were wrong.

Just like the soldiers are over in Irac fighting for our right to sit here and debate these options we are all so lucky to have and abuse like we do... They don't have to do it, they do it the way they do because there are laws concerning military conduct and behavior. and anyone who breaks them... Military or not gets thrwn into the brig! There has to be a set of laws and rules in any heirarchy in order for it to function... Now tell me why you assume God would have any less need for laws and upholding them. Too many of you have what I call Geeni syndrom where you have an image of what God SHOULD be. There are laws and He couldent just snap His fingers and go " Okay Poof! to reconcile the jews and the believers and to revise the old ways into the new ways all we have to do is wave our magic wand and there ya go... Every law had to be carried out by the rabbi and Jesus was a man and not exempt from their limitations, His life was set into motion as a revision, a marriage of the old laws and the new laws and there HAD TO BE A SACRIFICE and Jesus Christ MADE A CHOICE to become that last and final sacrificial lamb.

I think they believe it is a choice not to sin. However it is in our nature and we can't help it. So if God wants us to have power of choice, he gives us an 'out' to choose to save ourselves... Personally I agree with you. I am sure God is not so needy that he needs us to choose him by threatening that is the only way we can save ourselves... lol. You might want to pick a different religion..

You are touching upon a paradox here. How can a man be a man, not a man, God and not a God at the same time?

It would do you good to ask Him earnestly in prayer.

IF He wants you, you'll get it.
