Just explain to him that boys and girls go pee-pee differently. You don't have to go into all the gorey details. He knows about pee-pee. Explain it how he understands.

I'm talking about "pee pee" as a verb, not a noun.....two different things. We go pee pee. We have vaginas..... We have a penis.... WE ALL PEE PEE......URINATE, IF YOU WILL.

He's 4...you don't have to get into detail. Just say, having a penis is what makes him a boy and not having a penis is what makes girls.

You don't have to really.
Because in middle school or so, a part of education in their life.
The school's will provide a thing kind of like Family Life Unit.
They will learn those things.
You can just tell you son that it's just the differences between female and male! And the rest will be taught in school later.

Hope this helps, Jen
xx

even though it gets tough, TELL HIM THE TRUTH don't use words like pee pee or the special place just tell it like it is a penis and a vagina i swore i would be honest to my daughter no matter what and when it came down to it it was hard! but it is better to approach the situation honestly, boys have a penis and girls have a vagina, dad has a penis, mom has a vagina, you have a penis and sister has a vagina, etc. good luck!

It's odd for a 4 year old to be asking question like that. I don't mean to be forward but you may want to make sure he is not exposed to some type of perv. Most youngsters do not become aware or concerned about the different organs unless they are somehow made aware of them by adults.

well i tell mine that a boy has a penis thats what makes him a boy and a girl has a vagina because thats what makes then a girl. tell him that boys get to stand and pee and girls get to sit and pee thats why they are different. tell him that girls don't want to be able to pee outside but boys like to so they get to have a penis. my son is fine with this and he is three so it should work okay with you. good luck.

Tell him it's how you tell the difference between a boy and a girl. That's truthful, but not too much information.

at that age its hard to explain their curious notions. if they ask why its differant. as potty training the wonder why mommy and daddy are differant. when my son was around that age and a bit older he wondered. i explained to him, that all daddies have a penis and mommies had a vagina. when they fall in love, they creat babies out of love like we did him. i left it at that for the time.

Just tell him that boys and girls are made differently. That is just how God made us. He will figure it out one of these days.
