god sure does love giving his chosen people free unwilling virgins and slavery seems to be endorsed heavily by god in the bible, so yes i assume they just ignore these parts...although some ive talked to relish in these parts as showing the true power of god (a sick view i think)...

Because Christians has been the biggest religion ever since the burning of witches. Contridicting their power makes them angry whether if their right or wrong. Remember people with that much power don't think about religion in heart, but politics and money. Imagine no more people going to church and giving money, the main 'cat' of the religion would be ruined. Also their affraid to admit their wrong and declare anything that goes against them heresy or blasphemus. Imagine how they would feel if the found out Jesus had kids a wife, OR had a homosexual experience when he was a teen. Or that he had blood-siblings along with his half siblings from josephs previous marriage. Or that GOD is a woman, or that their were woman saints. All denied by those who teach it because they were homophobic, racist, sexist, ect. There's so many controvercial things about the bible, which brings them to just say "that everything is a heresy if it's different from the Bible".
So i hope this helped but i apologize if it angers readers, but this is my opinion!

I guess I dont know those Christians.
Contradictions---well, there are not many 'contradictions' in the way of faith---some silly stuff like how many animals did Noah bring on the ark....but that is only really an issue if you feel that you HAVE TO make everything be devinely DICTATED vs. devinely inspired.
Jealous God? Yep, he is. He does not like people to have false Gods----See commandment #1.
Murder and Pillage are part of life---
Love? Jesus' call is a hard call and if anyone think it is easy---they probably are not doing it correctly. Love is not a fluffy, feeling, warm and fuzzy---When St. Paul tells men to love their wives as Christ loves the Church, he is talking about death....it is not easy to love that way.

I don't hate the truth about the Bible. The Bible is a human book. It just shows that humans have always struggled to do right and to know God. I don't read the Bible like a how-to manual and I don't take it literally. I think of it as a wise old friend who has been around the block a few times.

If people understood some thing about God and how nature worked no-one should be pointing hands. yet maximum people believe what they prefer and that's troublesome to regulate their mindsets. in case you also understood God you'll not be worried about what people say. there's a reason behind each thing and that's all in Gods palms, so no-you could decide till they are sinless and organic, which they are not. one in all nature's maximum significant guidelines is the regulation of karma, and reincarnation is a procedure that occurs each of the time. there's a soul and because it acts it really is presented. often times previous life desires influence modern-day life and it is a few thing that's previous uncomplicated know-how, yet notwithstanding it truthfully exists. So don't be perturbed with the help of people, it purely stresses you for no actual reason. people will in common words substitute even as they arrive to a call to study the reality, till then they are going to stay fooled with the help of faux religions and element figures by ability of lack of know-how. NB: God would not punish people, He made 8.4 million species of life varieties in the textile international. four hundred 000 are human species and each go with their own direction, understanding what's proper and incorrect, so no-you could blame Him for the outcomes.

Yes, there is an ugly side to God, but not sinful.
We learn that we are to follow him and not turn away from his ways or this can happen. I don't think anyone looks over the fact that God is a jealous God.He doesn't want anything put before him. That doesn't just mean other gods. That means, men or women, money, drugs, sex, material things...anything that we love more than him. God tore down cities because of their ways. It's not because of hate that he did that but because he loves us so that he wants us to realize the era of our ways and to know that sin has consequences.

Although the Bible was 'inspired by God', it was interpreted by men. Over time, the passages were used by those in authority to take control over those who were less knowledgeable by 'teaching them' what 'God' (or those in power) wished to have happen (what to wear, what to eat). Organized religions did their part by convincing people that 'those who are not like us are wrong, or bad'. This created an atmosphere of fear (disguised as intolerance) of those who are different. However, those people who were raised with the 'fear of God' may be starting to realize that the basic message of the Bible 'Love one another as you love Me' is the important part to remember, and they are focussing (hopefully) on this and not on the Old Testament vision of a jealous, vengeful God.

Where are the contradictions you talk about? The God of the O/T wasn't very tolerante with sin, he still isn't but this time he has given everyone a chance to what he had only set up for his people, the Jews.

What contradictions are you talking about???? And the jealous God means that God wants Himself to be number 1 in your life which makes sense since He was the one who gave you life, and what murders? Are you talking about Cain and Abel or what? Everything has a meaning. You just have to look for it and not be lazy about it.

Depends on the Christian. I am one, however, I do not take the everything in the Bible literally. People need to realize that while the Bible may be God's word, it was written down by man. Apparently, men put their own spin on things.

I have no idea what you mean. Where do you get the idea that "Christians Hate the truth about the Bible"? Not sure where you get your information, but we don't "gloss over" anything at our church. We teach our kids about all the stuff that happened in the Old Testament, too.
