I am getting married next month and wanted to know if I should be using both things after the wedding or just be on the pill? I would not need to worry about STDs since we are in a monogamous relationship which will be 100% esp after our wedding.

Do whatever you feel most comfortable with. For the record, I have four children . . . three were conceived while I was on the pill.

Good luck!

That's a personal decision for you and your husband to make. However, keep in mind that all though condoms aren't that romantic, there is a margin of error with the pill. It's not 100% even when taken strictly as directed (same time, every day). For that matter, no birth control method is full proof, except for abstinence anyway. I've known a few to become pregnant on the pill even when taking it correctly. It happens. On a personal note, I became pregnant while on the Ortho Evra patch (and never incorrectly used it, I followed the directions to a T) and now have an 11 mth daughter (not that I would trade her for anything!).

Check out the effective rate of "the pill" they are very high. It is much higher than the condom relative to birth control. In your "monogamous marriage" the pill should be all you need:-). Nothing is supposed to be 100%, however, "the pill" taken according to instructions is more than 97% effective....unless got some super duper eggs and mega powerful sperm the pill should do it. Yea, we all know the what happen to the "condom" stories. Especially, the "it broke one". Funny how everyone I heard tell that story laughed or did something to let you know it was not true ;-)

I have a beautiful daughter who was Miss Co-ed & Miss Teen NC.
She was also a gift from the pill. I never missed a single pill (it says Monday, Tuesday &etc). It is 99% effective. Worked fine for 9 years but your guess when & who it does not work for.
Congrats on wedding!

I think you need to take the pill at the same time everyday for it to be 98 whatever percent affective....Just call a local Planned Parenthood and ask them. They'll know.......To be brutally honest. Unfortunately your marriage may not last....My x-husband had an STD and we didn't know it until after we got married. (Men can be carriers) Luckly I didn't get the STD, but I was lucky. Now I still don't know for sure that he didn't cheat on me. It doesn't matter now.....I just wanted to share my story with you, best of luck to you :)

I have been on the pill since I was 16 and not used condoms at many points (when I was married, for example) and have not ever been pregnant. yes, it is perfectly safe.

Good luck with your wedding, and congrats!

in case your era is meant to start up in 4 days, then the probability is particularly narrow - exceptionally coupled including his smoking and ingesting. You have a tendency to ovulate about fourteen days before your era starts (no longer fourteen days after your very last era, as such distinctive human beings mistakenly believe.) nevertheless, with a 10 day window considering your very last likely ovulation, there is next to no probability that an egg may nevertheless be alive for fertilization.

the pill should be enough if used properly. If taking pills at the same time every day isn't your thing, condoms are nice assurance.

I would just use the pill. That is what I have done. Who wants to mess with condms anyway! They are gross and ugly. ( I have never used them ever)
