You are always thinking about something. Your mind never stops working even when you are asleep. You said that it happens and you notice that you are worrying about things. Whatever these things are that you are worrying about is probably what is triggering you anxiety. You may have a vivid imagination that can actually trick your mind into thinking that you are really in a dangerous situation when you really are not. When this happens adrenalin is released into your bloodstream and causes the symptoms you mentioned to occur. Your body feels like it's ready to defend itself but your mind doesn't understand why your body is reacting the way it is. It can be very confusing. The fear of anxiety can even trigger anxiety related symptoms. The key to stopping it is to focus on positive things. Don't think about problems that don't exist. "What if" is the most common phrase we use while giving ourselves an anxiety attack. "What if something bad happens?" That's what you do to yourself. Try to turn the "What if" into something more positive.

Hey you're not alone. I know where you are coming from because I have had experiences just like you. The feelings are scary but its nothing that will kill you. Your body is smart and at times it may feel like you cannot breathe but your body won't let you stop breathing.

I went to a psychologist... we tried to find out what was causing my anxiety but we coudln't figure it out. My doctor did tell me that my body is producing a lot adrenaline in my body. Some suggestions were to punch something like a punching bag, throw something like eggs in a bathtub, lift weights or jog.

You probably get this euphoric feeling... kind of like butterflies in yoru stomach... maybe for a second you start to feel high and then the sick feeling comes. You just want to get out of the room and be alone. It sucks. My happens in restaurants a lot. I don't know why.

The doctor gave me pills to take but they only made me sleepy and Zombie-like. For a while I was unable to eat food until I had the pills... but after taking the pills, the effects were working but then i got sleepy and I can't eat food when I'm asleep. I realized medicine was only covering up my issue and not really controlling it.

What I did to help me get through this problem was to find a focus. When I go out to eat I sit near a window or position myself so I look out the window. I watch the cars and what happens outside. I don't let my body go idle and take in all the noise. I focus on one thing. Its better if I am with someone then I can talk to them about interests and stuff. I also took a class of Tai Chi... that class help me a lot. I was able to relax my body and develop different methods of breathing. I bought myself a punching bag and started punching it when I started to feel anxious.

Today I am I able to take some control of my body and mind. I think you can find something to do to release the anxiety from your body. I fought against mine... maybe you can fight against yours too.

Just remember you're not alone with this. You can probably find sites online that may give you more suggestions on how to control this.

I really recommend taking Tai Chi :)

How long has this been going on? Is it more than 6 months? If so you probably need to see a counsellor as it sounds as if you have an anxiety disorder. But there are other ways to deal with it as well. Because often what people do when they are anxious is become obsessed with the anxiety.

what you are describing sounds almost like a panic attack.
OK breathing is the right thing to do, but to help you to breathe there are some tricks....
try to focus on things in the area around you, pick a color...or a letter...and start naming things that are that color/or letter, you will find you are focusing on that...and you will start to calm and breathe....takes practice.
plant your feet to the ground...meaning if your sitting stamp them DOWN...as many times as needed till you FEEL the bottoms of your feet alive....then you say to yourself I feel my feet on the ground my "tush" on the chair etc up your body ...
the idea here is to bring your focus somewhere else...
change the mind....
