no they like complaining about being fat. blaming McDonald's for making them fat or thyroids and other things. HEY FATTY, YOU'RE FAT BECAUSE YOU EAT TOO MUCH AND ARE LAZY. very few conditions make people fat. that's just my 2 cents.
hey guido. don't hate because i'm right.
I love when people like you ask questions like this. i have read all the answers from everyone and you were attacked for asking a question. you never said anything hateful or mean... and one woman asked why you hate fat people. I don't read anywhere in your question that you HATED fat people. it's a simple question. do fat people like being fat. there was nothing mean or racial in that question. it's small minds like this that scare me. I know my answer is harsh... but it's the way I feel. I have had a child, put on 50 unwanted pounds and hated the way i looked. so you know what i did???? I changed my diet, exercised and patiently waited for the weight to come off. I'm still about 15 lbs heavier than I would like to be but I keep trying and never give up or give myself an excuse. as long as I have my health, I can acheive what I want. thanks for the questions... the answeres entertained me.

Wow, what an offensive question... Congratulations!!!
Being a fat guy, I believe I am qualified to answer this question. Last year I was 525 lbs, I am now down to 360 lbs. And no, I do not enjoy being fat. I do enjoy eating food though (and the later effect happened because of this).
I was so unhappy I had to do something. Hopefully within the next year I will be down another 100+ lbs and back to my fighting weight!!! I am happier now that I am lighter, but I will not be truly happy till I am down to 250lbs or less.....

Most of the time it doesn't seem to bother my husband, until someone makes a point of picking on him about it. He's in great shape except for the beer gut.
Right now, I'm fat because of the baby and it DOES bother me because 1) I can't fit into any of my clothes and 2) I feel very self-conscious about pictures of me, etcetera. I know it's just temporary but it's making me insane.
In addition, the other night my husband and I went to the Wal-Mart in town. (He has to drive me right now.) He very sweetly put the baby in the sling carrier and was carrying the baby around to give me a rest. He popped into another department for something, and I was just browsing through my regular size clothes to see what's new. Since it's been about six months since I wore anything but maternity clothes, I was feeling out of the loop. Other people were STARING at me, and it made me quite uncomfortable. Yes, I look puffy and my middle is still sticking out (it's only been a week) but sheesh, I know I wear a size 10-12 regularly so why look at me like I'm a freak because I'm looking at my regular size clothes? If I had to go through that every day I think I'd kill somebody.

What do YOU think? Do you think most people would choose to be ridiculed, discriminated against & abused? Because that's what happens to overweight people in our society. Based on the fact that you even asked such a ridiculous question, I would guess that you think overweight people are lazy or just don't care. I'd say that you, at best, are ignorant, and at worst, are cruel & judgemental. So my answer is no, fat people do not, in general, like to be fat.

I dont like being fat because I was never a fat person until I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. Im trying to get back to the way I was...Its a struggle everyday but I wont let a chronic problem get the best of me.

Some people like their bodies and some don't. That goes for all sizes. There are actually people who really don't care about being thin. There was one woman on TV who was thin but felt envious of bigger women. She decided she wanted to weight 600 ponds. And her husband was boasting about how gaining weight makes their love life better. You may not agree with that lifestyle but you got to respect someone going against the status quo.
It all depends on what you want to be. Some people want to be thin when they already are (and I'm talking about the people who don't have eating disorders but claim to dislike the look of their body).
At first I edited this part because i thought it was irrelevant but now that i've seen your additional results, I know it is.
There are many people who have low metabolism and no matter what they do, they can't lose more than a certain amount of weight. You may find this hard to believe but you're probably too thin to even understand. Doing something about it isn't just based on what you observe when you look at them. Everybody is not going to be thin. Many doctors and biologists have said this. My guess is that you are not a doctor nor a biologist, certainly not one who studies this subject. And what you don't seem to realize is that it's obese people who have the hardest time "doing somthing about it". This is mainly because their metabolism is lower.
Why should they hate themselves because YOU hate them? You're obviously too lazy to do your research.

Wow, I like the turmoil you stirred up. It shows me there are kind, intelligent people out there...there are also people who are rude, insensitive, quite possibly stupid and may also help you see how appalling your question is. I hope by reading some of these answers you learn something. If not what to be, at least what NOT to be.

That is a very ignorant question, but the best answer I can give is that some people are comfortable and happy with the way they are and others aren't.

I don't think so....I know I don't. It's a safety net for me though. Most people won't give me the time of day because I am fat......there for won't be able to hurt me later when they call themselves my "friend".
