Because everyone has to die at some point. Maybe it was time for the one who dies and not time for the one who didn't. God has a plan. Maybe the one that doesn't have cancer anymore still has work to be done, or maybe she needed that testimony to finish her work here on earth. You can't question why some people die and why some people get healed. God has a plan and when your time is up- it is up.

I just went through this last month. I lost a cousin to breast cancer. She was 34 years old and leaves behind a husband and two children. Her mother was thanking God that she survived the first round for two years and is now thanking God she did not have to suffer anymore. So, basically, everything is twisted around until God is blameless regardless of the injustices, inconsistencies and pure lunacy of the world.

There are many different reasons for God's works.
The truth of it all is that you are to praise God through it all, the good & the bad. Something else you have to understand is that God is GOOD all the time. Satan may have sent that cancer for bad but God said I'm going to show you MY power and cured her. For the mother that died, he could of used her death to bring others to him. Anything that God sends at you he will bring you through and he will use you to prove to others JUST WHO HE IS.
Now let's say this mother that you spoke of. Who knows what was going to happen in the future that God spared her from. Her husband could have starting cheating on her. Her cancer could have kept coming back time after time again. Her kids could have ran to drugs, murder, the life of crime or anything negative that could have happened. God spares us from a lot of earthly things. He calls us home when he feels our work her on earth is done.
The thing is he doesn't have to answer for it. From the moment we take a breath we are dying. We all will be called home, just some will get there in different cars.

I live in a relationship with God where I thank God for everything even the nasty icky stuff in life. in my short 40 years I have seen enough to know what seems horrible now may actually be for the best later. I trust God to make the decission because God has access to info I do not.

I know of a lot of people who have blamed him for the bad in their lives. We all have a destiny and are of free will. Some times we chose to take certain paths and sometimes we just end up there and dont know why. My opinion is that we all have a time to die. Some die worse then others. But people do blame God all the time!

Sounds like a matter of perspective; from your point of view, your mother dying would have been a bad thing. Mabe if you could see the future, you would recognize it as a good thing. My uncle died right before Hurricane Katrina. He had chronic back problems, and couldn't even travel. When he died, we all wondered how this could be a good thing, why God had taken him, etc; what would have happened if he'd still been alive in Hurricane Katrina? I forgot to mention they lived in New Orleans.

I agree with you there Chris K. God didn't kill that woman. He wants all of us to live long healthy lives. Jesus said, "The thief comes just so that he can steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." - John 10:10. satan killed her. Now yes, some might ask, "Well why did God let the devil kill her?" But it was really her and her family who LET the devil kill her. The Lord told us we can quench ALL the fiery darts of the devil. We need to remember that, when things seem to be impossible. Because "All things are possible for God", and "All things are possible for those who believe."

because you have god and satan. good and evil.
death is not a bad thing. We only fear it because we don't understand what happens to us after death.
If you are not living right and serving god why should he help you when you are serving the devil. Who can make bad things happen to you.
It's called free will.
the lady who died from cancer might not have been leading a healthy lifestyle.
Show God you love him and you realize that he is your maker!

I asked that question the same day I left the church to live as an atheist.
Couldn't get an answer then, and I doubt you will get one now.
BTW, if man is made in God's image why is he too dumb to understand God's mysterious ways? Just curious.

It's very convenient to praise god for all good, and blame satan for all evil (but in fact, they're the same person if they do exist).
Just like it's very convenient for kids to blame their dogs for eating their homework (if they have 1 at home).
