They say they don't want the troops there. So withdraw all troops and let them get on with it.

Saddam and his government kept the peace with fear and killings, also you never really heard any news out of Iraq before the war did we? What about when he killed all the Kurds in Northern Iraq. We never really heard very much about that. These people groups have been forced to get along or all would die or go to the neat Iraqi prisons. Now the people have some freedoms, that we enjoy, so they have the ability to move freely and kill those that have caused them and their people so much trouble over time. Also there is no leadership there because Saddam had all the people killed that could ever be a threat.

That's easy, it's MUSLIMS. You know, that cherished sect of Mohamed, that so many stupid people are willing to die for. Actually, it's the Sunni tribe that had Saddams blessing. These people lived very well under Saddam, whereas the Shiites suffered and were persecuted under Saddam.
Saddam, politically speaking was a Baathist. Baathist have their power base in Syria. Therefore the Syrians are the ones keeping the pot stirred. They are the ones who keep the Sunni's supplied with IED's, roadside bomb materials, guns, ammunition, and even al Queda leadership who keeps the Sunnis motivated.

What is happening is that various groups of people are attempting to use terror tactics in order to get the Iraqi people to submit and allow them to rule as dictators. (AQ wants a religious theocracy run by themselves.)
Most of the people actually performing the attacks are little more than thugs for hire. Arab culture does not place the same value as ours does on the lives of strangers - especially if those strangers follow a different version of Islam. So it is fairly easy to hire somebody to kill people in another city.
And another factor thrown in the mix are revenge killings. There are a _lot_ of people in Iraq who lost family members to Saddam's security forces and now they are going out and getting revenge - and not being too picky about making sure they got the right guy.

If you are suggesting that the Iraqi people were better off under a brutal dictator as opposed to the current growing pains of a burgeoning democracy then you are wrong.
Give me liberty or give me death!
The real causes of the current massacres are religious extremists and terrorists making power plays in the politically unstable environment. Iraqi's citizens need to stand up in support of their new government and help fight against these elements.
Freedom is worth fighting for.

Where did you get your numbers? Saddam executed 9655 prisoners alone to clear prisons, this included 40 relatives, & 130 women that were beheaded. It is estimated that he executed between 61,000 - 350,000. These are British & Chinese estimates not from our military. That would mean between
6,100,000 - 350,000,000 people are being executed. Who would be left alive. There are only 26,074,907 people living in Iraq according to all the history websites.
