Bad things happen to good and bad people - it doesn't matter who you are. I know what you meant -- you made a typo and some people are anal about that. Anyway, life is full of stepping stones - barriers we have to figure out how to climb over. Believe me, I understand....I have a granddaughter - that is a good thing (but I'm not OLD). We've lost everything material possible and no credit and bills out the .......plus one car with 4 people working (2 teens not in walking distance - no bus close by). Believe me, life is full of obstacles. I have found out through a lot of it though - that there are some very nice people out there. We were also almost evicted and WOULD have been on the street if it happened. Salvation Army saved us. We've had cancer in the very very immediate family that had a profound affect on everything too (very long story). People have even asked "how the hell did you survive because I would have lost it" after hearing the stuff that has happened. Well, I don't know how but we did - we're here and I'm on a computer on-line at my apartment right now. Not where I thought I would be 30 days ago. I hope that by telling a bunch of people that the Salvation Army helped us (US citizens in trouble when the administration doesn't care), that MAYBE someone gave money to them to help another family. I pray that if I said anything to help that, and it helped one family the way it helped me, then I did something positive with a negative situation. I hope.

Because the world runs on chance and choice. Sometimes bad things happen by chance, ie a truck hits your car when it swerves out of it's lane unexpectedly. Sometimes we make a poor choice, ie that whole Duke Rape disaster, I don't know what really happened but someone make a bad choice that night.
If you believe in karma, bad events can get you down but just look at it this way. God isn't supposed to give you more than you can handle. If you are really down you can try counting all the good things you still have, like health, family, friends or even a pet.

You know what? I have wondered about this for some time and have come up with a theory.
Good people are essentialy good, and nice, and admired by those whose lives they touched. That's why they are more susceptible to being affected by evil eye, or rather bad feelings from envious bad people.
Bad people on other hand, make life difficult for so many people, that they are rendered immune to ill-will directed at them by the people they hurt.
Thus, bad feelings , negativity and bad fortune affects good people more, Of course, it could simply be a case of negative electrons speeding towards a positive electrode, as compared to bad things happening to good people!

Good people need to be tested by god more before they go off to heaven. It cant be a breeze to get it. Thats why bad things happen to them, but good things come later on.

God made this world perfect. We screwed it up. We have to face the consequences of our actions and the actions of our ancestors.
If your asking why do people get cancer (based on the category you used), look what we have done to this world to the air we breath to the water we drink to the food we eat!! How much garbage can we expect our bodies to be able to filter out before there is some effect. We did this to ourselves. I wonder how any of us escape cancer. Or do we?

That is just the way of things. But from a spiritual sense, good people who are given challenges, that they overcome later, are just being groomed and prepared for something much larger and greater.
