Why is it gross before marriage but not after? It's the same act. Thinking it "gross" is a rather juvenile attitude, but I do firmly believe that no one should have sex until they are ready...ready for the emotions involved, ready to handle a pregnancy should it occur...ready to handle an STD should it occur...ready to deal with issues of contraception and condoms...

But that doesn't mean they need be married...any consensual adults should have sex whenever they choose...as long as both partners are available (either a couple, or not cheating on a significant other)...

I agree with you 100% on this. Its not really gross but its just...degrading to me...sex is something special (especially your first time) and it should be done with someone special and it should be memorable. and obviously if you have found that someone special then just get married, if not then WAIT until you get married. Sex is not the one and only thing in a relationship (at least it shouldn't be).

Well you can still find someone you love without being married. What if you never get married.

I believe that your best chance for happiness and fullfillment comes with no sexual activity before marriage and complete fidelity in marriage.

There was a time, not long ago, when many or most americans believed that way.

Nobody does. It's just like buying a car, you have to drive it around the block a few times before you buy it. Same principle when dating.
