I think you have a point about some of this laser mouse. But try to remember that the world is generating it's own poor. Jesus sees right through that. He sees the greed in buisness and government that are practicing horrible behavior towards it's own people.
To blame right wingers for all this would be myopic.
God helps those who help themselves- Hollywood uses that all the time in movies- are they right wingers?
" Hate the sin, love the sinner " - I agree with this saying to a point. I think you notice too that the finger is pointed away from the speaker on this. It really is overused to describe the actions of others, not themselves. I know some people that are Christian that say this almost daily, I wouldn't call them friends.
" Wouldn't Jesus support welfare? " - This goes pretty deep. The welfare system is a man made concoction that probably were of good intentions, but like most of man's ways- it's flawed and causing harm as it attempts to help.
Remember- God is our provider. Jehovah-Jireh. It's his nature to provide for those that are His. He doesn't need a welfare system. He is a welfare system. For His children anyway.
" Wouldn't he put human rights before mosaic law? "
I think I know what you are getting at, but know this: God has all the rights. The earth is the Lord's and everything in it. Psalm 24:1
" Wouldn't he support environmentalism? "
Up to the point where it is to be destroyed. Remember: He created everything and isn't weak from doing it. He's God after all. He promised to make all things new.
" Wouldn't Jesus tell us to support the illegal immigrants, as they are our neighbors? " They are all not our neighbors by Jesus definition. But yes, if someone was in trouble, you or I should help them. But know this: With the greed of the Mexican rich in Mexico, the poor have no reservoirs for water. The standard of living will never go up because of the Mexican rich. And then they sit back and complain that the US isn't doing enough. That's greed!
Why are right-wingers now synonymous with "Christianity"?
I know, I don't like it either!

Because we are suppose to love all through Christ, and the first statement I don't believe reflects the Bible at all, We are to help the weak and the poor, we are to help others.
I believe Jesus tells us to take care of the poor, but I also believe in taking care of them, we help them to get on their feet, so they can live a more proficient life in the Lord, The Bible tells us to work if we are able.
About the illegal immigrants, No I do not believe so, because the Bible states that we should abide by the laws, that are put there to help man-kind, but it should also reflect a way to make people legal, so if they needed help, they could come into this country in could merit.
I think Gods children are Christianity, who live in Christ and when they bring politics into it, they are doing it for their own reasons, and in a sense go against christianity, it totally defeats the purpose, now if they are helping people to help and not letting pride or using it to get themselves elected thats different.

Oh wait, I know.
It’s because when ever the crazy people that run the country (the extreme right wing) sit and talk about how to make all liberals miserable, some how Gods commandments get messed up in their minds & they try to make a new law that only affect liberals and pass it off as law for all. Then, on top of that, they praise God for EVERYTHING (even stuff he want's nothing to do with.)
That’s why.
Not being Christian & not having gone to church in years, I can’t say for certain, but I’m pretty sure that the Reverend doesn’t say anything about how God said to try to make others unhappy & he will find a place in Heaven for you.

Right-wingers are associated with Christ because their ideals are closer to that of biblical teachings. Certainly abortion, homosexuality, kicking God out of school isn't going to associate Democrates with Christ.
As far as your points about welfare. It is my belief that most republicans want to see welfare taking out of governments hands and put back into the hands of churches and other charities. It is not the governments job to take money from one person and give it to someone else. People should donate money when and where at the time it is impressed on them.
"Human Rights": Human rights should be honored, but that doesn't give someone a license to sin. Jesus wouldn't condone sin to protect civil rights.
Environment: God created this planet for us to work and use to our benefit. He'll come back long before we are done with it.
Illegal immigrants: I believe we are in the right to ask immigrants to come here legally. We aren't truly helping them by making them live under ground. Sending them back and having them enter legally is ultimately beneficial to them and to us.

Very few people are willing to acknowledge this, but millions of liberals use God and Jesus to support their lame-brain left-wing policies, such as opposing the death penalty & necessary war and increasing the amount of money that the government foolishly wastes trying to help the poor. They refuse to admit that not everyone believes in God and that not even everyone who DOES believe in God believes in the SAME god. There are very good reasons to ban or restrict abortion, pornography & same-sex marriage that DON'T have anything to do with either God or Jesus. The left wing should start respecting the establishment clause in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Because he uses that hand to write ?
Besides the right political parties are the ones that make everyone follow to take the money, the leftiest are more social parties :D
Christ was a good politician and well good politicians are mostly " right " ... but the reality is always dependable in the space and zone where you are talking, for example if you ask that question in Indonesia ( 210 million of muslims ) you would be out of context .
If you ask that one in china ( 800 million of buddist ) you would be out of context too. I think there is less christianity in the planet that the one you think.

First off, make sure you read the entire Bible before assuming things are not in the Bible.
Secondly, why don't you ask Jesus yourself?
We should be more concerned with our own relationship with Him then worrying about what "wing" of government is synonymous with Christianity.

Christianity is a structure invented by people. Jesus is a person, some believe God, who lived an expemplary life. Yes, Christ is one of the most socially liberal historical figures and he would probably not follow a lot of the social, political views of the Chrisitan Right.
One of my favorite t-shirts reads, "Jesus, save me from your followers".

I think church in general is seen as conservative. And being a member of an "upstanding group" makes you more status quo.
Religion is just an organization--not necessarily reflecting the theology Jesus wanted. And organizations can be liberal, too.
Catholics have "Liberation Theology" which is very socially minded. Now, not too many religions support drug use or murder (and Catholics must view abortion as murder--I'm not sure where I stand.....), so they won't be "liberal" there....but they SHOULD and ARE opposed to the death penalty.

Not all christian are with the Right. A true christian is into Christ and Chris alone. if the Right would life by only Christ's two laws, "Love God with all of your heart. and love your neighbor as yourself." your aforementioned issues would be resolved without all the political crap. there would be no left or right, there would be only Christ.
