The reason I ask this is because I want to talk to the county judge since I received a ticket. He will not give me a minute, but in court. I have a very important college class and cannot miss it.

I think more than anything is because he had some problems with a long time friend of mine and he knows that I was friends with him.

Good Grief. Judges never talk to anyone outside of court about a court case, let alone a whiney little college kid.

Just reschedule the court date by going through the proper channels.

Talk to a lawyer?!? About what?
Call the bar association?!? Do that with this complaint and they'll laugh at you.

Sorry hon, The judge doesn't want to, have to, or need to, talk to you before your court date. And if you think that he's doing that because of your friends "problems." Well, that's just paranoid. He's doing that because theres a process set up... Think about it, especially since your situation is such a minor issue.... If the judge entertained everybody who had an "important engagement" before their court date... he'd be holding court in has chambers all day, every day. Nope there's a reason that you were assigned a COURT DATE. That's the day and time that you get to argue the situation. Other wise just pay it.

You can request that the clerk of the court reset the court date, but that is 100% up to them and the judge. The judge does not care that you have an important college class. There have been many times that I have worked a 12 hour midnight shift and had court the next day.

But to answer your origional question... Circuit court judges are above county court judges, as are appellate court and supreme court judges. Don't expect any of them to hear your complaint though.

state supreme court judges are higher. however, no one besides the judge you are assigned to has the authority to change anything regarding your case. if you are in jail, you're not going to any college classes. so, go to court, suck it up, and take responsibility for your actions.

County judges are as good as it gets. I worked with one!
They are powerful & you can't intimidate them by going to the upper rank.
You could try talking to one of their BFF (District Attorney)!!
Try it, DA could talk to judge on your behalf.
Not a guarantee.

Get ahold of your state Bar Association and find out what you can do or just pay the ticket and call it done.
