i mean, churches use utilities that they dont have to pay for. why should people have to pay for the keeping up of a building just because it is a place of worship. especially if they are not a believer in that religion, or any religion for that matter.

Why should the people have to pay taxes to keep the building running while the people who run and own the building dont have to pay taxes on it.

if the churches are not paying taxes to the state then the state is favoring them and giving them a leg up over atheists. and, as pointed out, this is not seperation between church and state.

Churches should work like businesses. The problem that you run into there is political influence comes with societal responsibility! Example- Look at the educational system. Some districts offer vouchers (money that would have been spent on that child used in a private system). Many parents use that money to go to parochial schools. I dont want my money going to further things like religious education. I'd give to churches if I wanted that.

I think so.. Other entities like a store or a service club have to. Many churches that rent retail space to house the Church and pay taxes (it's in the rent). This is not a theocracy it's a republic giving us the freedom of religion. Why should not ask a non believe in this country pay more tax because a church was exempt. As an American I say yes tax churches. And I go one more don't allow tax exemption for the money donated to a church. Give because it's what you want to do not to lower your tax burden..

If the Church replaced into prepared so as that each and every person of that is gross revenues replaced into utilized in the direction of build up God's Kingdom on earth, properly, it ought to no longer count as a results of fact the indoors maximum earnings of everyone individual. the money that comes from the tithe payers is already taxed, so no count if it somewhat is lower back taxed after it somewhat is amassed, that must be double taxation, that's doubtless considered one of the excuses our forefathers rebelled against England. Pastors and Ministers could have jobs to earn their own living, like Christ, who replaced right into a chippie, and Paul, who replaced right into a tentmaker, and Peter, James and John, who have been fishermen, so as that they does no longer be a burden to the congregation. They paid taxes, too.

I do believe that any business should pay their fair share of taxes to relieve the heavy burden on the communities they function in. Organized religions are in essence congregational businesses and should, if following their concepts, be glad to "tythe" to their communities...go figure. However, as it stands, others outside of their members do not support their leaders, so the payments of utilities, etc. fall on them, not you, as a non-member.

YES indeed! Then Churches could bill back the governments when they handout free sandwiches to the poor. Send money to foreign countries, just about Everything they do!

paying taxes would mean the govt is trying to encroach on religions turf. you know we can't have a mix of govt and religion. thankfully it doesn't happen in this day and age
