Is there a natural food for cats with stuvite crystals which recently have been removed. The vet wants her on Feline c/d which has by-products and I really don't want her to have but I don't want her to get crystals again either. I thought maybe there would be a specific natural food for stuvite crystals.

Hi there! I don't know of a natural food. I am a Veterinary Technician and I work in an animal hospital. I do know that c/d is the best food for an animal who has had crystals. I would suggest listening to the veterinarian. The only other option is to ask the Vet if there is anything she/he knows of. But my recommendation is to stick with the c/d. Is it hills diet?

Well let me tell you c/d or Royal Canine urinary s/o or medical preventive are all specially formulated foods for these problems. Please understand what by-product means. In a diet like the one your veterinarian has recommended is an excellent high quality tested tried and true diet . In these diets by-products are human grade quality(there are many different gradings of by-products), which means if you wanted to you could cook it and eat it yourself. In the cheaper foods it you would not want to eat it. The main thing here as well is the fact this diet balances the PH of the urine to stop crystal formation. I can guarantee you no natural diet can or will do that. There has been billions of dollars spent on researching and making this food and believe you me Hill's prescription WANTS your pet to do well and live a long life.

I feed Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul
My cat had struvite crystals and she has been eating this food for about two or more years now ans she is fine on it.
The vet recommed the Feline c/d but she would trow up every piece of it she ate. So I tried the Euknuba low ph prescription diet for awhile she was better on it but still vomited some.
Now she vomits once and awhile but not like she did.
The Chicken Soup stuff is rated one of the best food and is really good no by pruducts and junk in it.
Try googling it they have a web site for it
Good luck.

She should be on feline K/d Science Diet. Struvite crystals result from a genetic tendency and diet only moderately helps if at all. That is the best food you can purchase for the cat.

Try this - Wysong Uretic Feline Dry. My cat didn't like it. He prefers Pro Plan.
