Absolutely not. I'm raising four great kids that could impact the future in some really big way. Money is nothing in comparison and I've never cared to travel very extensively.

Been there, didn't do that (I have no kids).
1. You are never more financially secure. Studies of the ridiculously rich (ex: The Millionaire Mind or any other book focused on the pathology of mega-accumulation) is that few of them feel like they ever have enough. If that's the case, then chances are, nobody ever feels like they have enough.
2. Fruitlessly searching for the former, many people work so hard they have no time for travel outside of work-related or a few vacations. I suppose if it is that small amout of time you are referring to, I don't think it's much.
Ironically, one thing you forgot to mention is sex. Married couples tend to have kids, but they also tend to have more sex than singles. If you think you're not getting much now, think what it would be like if you had half as much as that... Yeah. It sucks. If only the only obstacle were finding a baby sitter! Singles have to deal with new person trust issues, higher disease risks, and getting schedules to match - all assuming you met someone that you are even interested in and that happens to be interested in you. Yeah, it sucks.
Advice: Travel with the kids. If they are adventurous, they will never forget and will always have fond memories that you shared together. For example, my parents used to go camping in Canada north of upper Michigan when I was in grade school and had unforgettable experiences canoing and one time camping on a large rock in the middle of a small lake! Wolves howled and owls hooted. It was awesome! Go see Rock City and many kids love museums. Make it fun for them and it will be a great family trip! If you can, go camping to keep costs down - kids like that too.

No I wouldn't. I will admit that I have thought about what a childless lifestyle might be like. Mostly when my kids are staging war against each other. But the benefits of having children are just too wonderful. There is nothing better than when my daughter hugs me and gives me little pats on my back or the look of pride on my son's face when he accomplishes a goal. And who is to say I can't have it all. Miracles do happen.

Hmmm...Its funny how people that are able to have children think that way and the ones that can't would enjoy every minute of their kids life.... I can't have any so...I guess I will just travel and be more financially secure...

I already did the first, but not by choice. I always wanted kids, but I couldn't get pregnant. Then, I got divorced and began to travel and I'll tell you...I'm glad I don't have any kids...because I am free to do what/who I want, WHENEVER I want now. I just wish I had the financial security to go with my freedom.

This takes a bit of planning. One answer was..kids are now grown, etc. Mine is I had my first at 35. I had all my fun, travel, career. Now that my youngest is 13, I have 5 more years until I can get out there again...So Yes, have your cake and eat it too, but plan on what stage of your life that will be.

Bringing up my children has shaped my personality and fulfilled me in many ways - the ways which are left over can wait. I don't crave money or travel, just more time to spend on music, art and reading.

To a certain point I would say yes..and to a certain point I have to say no..I say yes to a certain point that If I had've known that it really was this hard and had to do it by myself then I would say yes..Traveling is one of the things that I wished I could have did before having children.
To a certain point I say no, because I have 3 sons and they means the world to me, I got what I wanted so I'm happy with them. I wouldn't trade them in for the world..
