Absolutely!! In fact 1100 is what you need to be able to lose weight. The average intake for a woman is about 1600.
Studies show that in order to lose at lease a pound a week you have to eliminate 500 calories per day.. bringing you from 1600 to 1100...
If you work out along with this you should lose more than one pound a week.

the average person needs 1000 to 1500 calories per day. If you are an active person then you need 1500 calories and a non-active person need 1000 to maintain weight. If you take in 1000 calories and exercise then you will loose weight. But be careful if you take in too few calories and exercise a lot you can hurt yourself.

It's probably not healthy, but who knows...If you feel like your starving, then I recommend you eat something. A normal metabolism should burn around 1500 calories, without any exercise. If your feeling hungry, then your metabolism has already slowed down. Regardless, your weight is going to fall off at a fast and unhealthy rate.

I don't think it would hurt for you to get more calories a day.

Those extra calories could get you even more excercise, so you could actually lose 10 pounds even faster.

Not that I know much.

Unless you are really skinny and/or have really slow metabolism, you would lose weight even sitting around at that caloric intake. My break even point is probably twice that.
