What if Jesus doesn't come back in 2018, what happens to your faith?

Nothing will happen to my faith for dates are meaningless at this point. I who am less than the least, can tell you that anyone who sets forth a date does so without scriptural authority and without revelation.

The Lord Jesus first appeared in Judea about 2,000 years ago. His second appearance is now underway, and will be completed without fanfare ( as a thief in the night). Don't miss this. The coming which everyone today is writing about and expecting is that coming which "...all flesh shall see it together."

Bottom line: It will not hamper my faith for His return is already underway so I do not need a date anymore. His second return will be seen by the entire world ( and not on big screen TV via satellite) when He descends and walks through the Eastern Gate. This event is the culmination of history and time shall be reckoned no longer.

I hope you can see that date setting is superficial, supercilious superfluous. Further the passage of such dates should not be a concern for any ones belief system. Faith should be based on the Lord Jesus and not on dates.

I thought the world was coming to an end in 2012. Where do you get 2018 from? But, you know I have no faith in that department, so my "faith" wouldn't change at all if that happens.

Who said he was coming back in 2018? The Bible says that not even the Son (Jesus) knows when he will return, but the Father in Heaven. Nobody knows when Jesus will return, but the Bible does give us signs that he's coming soon in Matthew Chapter 24. It talks about earthquakes in many places and wars and rumuors of war. These are some things we are seeing now that let's us know time is winding up. So my faith in his return will remain strong because I know he's coming back, but not knowing when should help us keep our houses in order.

Oh one more thing. The Bible says He will return like a thief in the night. Does anyone know when they're going to be robbed? Of course not, so we don't know when Jesus will return.

The Bible says that no man knows the day or the hour, not even the Son. Only God knows. So my faith will remain unshakable. We must be ready whether He comes today, tomorrow, a year or 20 years from now. These people who claim to know when Jesus is coming back are being misled.

then we sit down and make more trivial predictions. my advice to all my fellow christians: stop worrying about it. you've gotta give this people credit for perserverence though. they can't predict the day and the hour, so they'll predict the month and the year. nothing happens to my faith if jesus doesn't come back in 2018.

Christ didn't give us a date when he's coming back, he gave us the tools to be ready when he does! If you've accepted Christ for his awesome and unselfish sacrifice to die for you then you have what you need for the rest of your life and that's to know that he said he is coming back for us no matter if it's before you die or not. So have Patience and know that God is all about the truth and rest in him knowing that when he does come back it will be the best day of your life, that is if you've chosen to be his child by then.
