I got to thinking after seeing some other questions on here about Atheist that alot of their answers as to what the lack of a belief in a higher being has done for them is the same that the Belief in GOD has done for me and alot of other people I know. So my question is this
Why do Atheist feel they have to bash Christians?
I am solely basing this off of my own experience not anyone else's. I am strong in my faith and with that comes the feeling of responsibility in spreading the news. THis offend Athiest. why not say that's nice and walk away or don't get involved in the conversation. Why do they feel that if anything in public has reference to GOD that they have to rebuke it and throw a fit. Just ignore it, I hate porn shops but I would not join in a group to shut them down, even if I feel they should be becuz everyone has to make a choice, right? Who am I to tell you not to walk into a building becuz it has Porn?
I am just saying let it alone people. don't like it don't read it

Its an odd thing religion..

If they truly believe there is a lack of a higher being, they must think we are completely crazy for devoting lives/time/money to such a cause...

Course, the reverse is equilty true, We wonder why they would chose to reject a free gift and insted spend an eternity in a lake of liquid glass shimmering with fire, in eternal darkness with only the tormet of billions of other souls to keep them company.

Why they dislike christians and religion so bad? I really dont know for sure, It seems we have made our own choice why should they care.... Perhaps somewhere in their heart they know the truth and they try to silence it by silencing any external reminders of the truth..

I really didn't read all of your view, just the question. Why do you think that, we see thing in so many lights, an don't stop to ask the question to the person that doing the hating. Because I have heard several different people calling them self ATHEIST an would call out God help me in a heart beat, so what you believe is what count, I say to people all you can do is tell you testimonies, an let God do God job. Tell people what good he had done in your life and the unbeliever an believe, will see God working in you.

I see your point but you need to realize that this Christian vs Atheist thing is not true. All religions are waging wars with all other religions and its all not right. You say that Atheists bash Christians, well, Christians bash Atheists and pretty much all other religions. We all end up bashing each other. Its like the age old chicken and egg question. Each person just needs to look inside and live up to the values and morals within. If you as a Christian do not bash other religions at all and do not judge others than you are living your life in accord with your beliefs and that's all you need to be concerned with.

The truth is, some Christians DO bash Atheists, and some DO create groups to shut down sexually oriented businesses and the like. I mean, there were Christian protestors all over the country harrassing people that were going to watch "The Da Vinci Code". A friggin movie for cryin out loud!

(BTW I'm not a Christian or an Atheist. I'm just speaking logically)

I am not an atheist; but, I, too, get offended by "certain" Christians. I get bashed often by Christians for not believing the way they do. And I do believe. Not meaning to doubt, which I do not doubt what you are saying, but as for me, I have never been "bashed" by any atheist. In fact, many of my friends are agnostic or atheistic. All I am saying is to show someone how strong your faith is may be to actually SHOW someone how strong your faith is. After all, and like you said, if they don't like it they can say "that's nice." But, why do they have to walk away. Ask them how they feel. If they say they don't feel or something to that affect, then, would you walk away? Sure you may not gain a convert then and there, but as friends, maybe sometime in the future they may start to hold a conversation based on what you do----not just what you say! And no, being friends with an athiest will not lead you to be one yourself. Just like having a friend that is gay will not lead you to be gay. If you are soooo strong in your walk, nothing, not even Satan, can turn you from God.
As for any public reference to God. . .there too, as a Christian, and depending on who is fighting for the right to make a public reference about God, I have to agree against public reference. One very basic reason-----God Is Not To Be Bought Or Sold By Anyone Or Any Group Or Organization!!!!!!!!!!!! God is neither a republican or a democrat. He cares not for holy wars in his name;nor I am more than sure, does He care if His name is on American money. God does not just Bless America. He blesses every living thing He created. God cares not if we're "proud to be Americans" knowing what we Christians do about pride being a sin.

No, God cares that all are given the opportunity to share eternity with Him and no putting the Ten Commandment in a courthouse in Alabama, no saying a prayer before a high school or college sporting event, and certainly no pledge of allegence to a piece of cloth is going to get us to that final perfection with Him. After all, Jesus said the greatest commandment was, what? That we should love God with all of our hearts, souls and our mind. Then Jesus said a second time that we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves.(Matt 22:36-40)

Do you believe this atheist your neighbor? Could you love this atheist the way God does---and He does!!!!!? Then don't JUST say you believe, show you believe as well.

I believe in a higher power or God if you'd like to name it. I don't bash Christians but I do hate it when they try to push their beliefs down my throat. I don't mind debated conversation, in fact I like it that way I see their views and they see mine. Everyone has their own beliefs and way of believing or not as the question states.

Okay...if you are good in your faith then you should have no worrie bout what anyone has to say. You should also know that it is Satans work. He works through the people that do not believe in God to hurt those that do. Santan does not care. Satan cant make it that easy. God does not want it that easy. Thats why he allows things to carry on the way they do. He wants to see the ones who will stand up for him. He wants you to defend his name. God loves all. Even the athiest. So dont let them bother you....pitty them if you want just know that one day they will have to face God almighty.

Well, according to your beliefs, Atheists have no choice but to be the way they are.

Since god supposedly knows everything, then he must know th future. If the future is known, it can't turn out any other way. Since god knew the future, he deliberately made every person knowing what they would do, therefore, he made them for that purpose. Since he made everyone to be the way they are, they have no choice but to be what they were made to be. THAT MEANS THAT THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE WILL...
