You mean like public as in a pool or a beach? Sure, if they are cute. But public as in the grocery store? Then no.

There are very, very few circumstances under which it is acceptable for a man to wear a speedo -- be it in public or otherwise. You must have an absolutely perfect, muscly, hairless body (which, like, NOBODY has), you must be very well endowed (what are the odds that you could meet both conditions 1 and 2?), and the speedo must be good quality, made of thick fabric and must NOT, under any circumstances, sag.
Then, and only then, is it okay for a man to wear speedos. And I think I have witnessed this rare alignment of the heavens only once in all my life.
And, no, it's really not the same as wearing a bikini in public. Sadly, guys, you wear your dangly bits on the outside, and not wearing skimpy swimmers is one of the very few sacrifices you must make as a result.
So, please, for the love of god and all of humanity, stick to shorts.

There are so few people who can actually wear one and still not scare the bejebees out of someone else, I move that they should be banned outside of competitive swimming events.
LOL.
And for the person who talked about bikinis and women...well, some of those should be banned, too. Have you ever seen a chick with a lil' too much hanging out try to don a micro bikini. More frightening than a M. Night Shyamalan flick.

Do you think it is alright to kiss in public, then it is ok to wear speedos in public. If you do not like it then don't look.

It's OK, but I think we should determine what body fat % is permissible. I hate seeing people in speedos that have fat that overlaps the speedo. YUCK!

I think it should be done often. We all could us more laughter in our lives. There is nothing sexy about a man in a speedo for a heterosexual female.
