Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water.
Meal suggestions:
1st: piece of fruit
2nd: string cheese, summer sausage, cottage cheese/yogurt
3rd: bowl of cereal
4th: soup/sandwich
5th: a good dinner-meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
6th: salad/raw veggies
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Do daily simple exercise like walking (even at a slow pace is good)...swimming is the best exercise, it's easy and you'll have fun doing it.

p.s.
Go for another walk after dinner.

Lose weight with healthy food

Healthy food for weight loss

Is it possible to eat more food and actually lose weight? Absolutely, if you eat more of healthy foods than empty calorie foods (junk food).

Not everyone realizes that you do not have to deprive yourself in order to lose weight. What you have to do is eat more of healthy foods, leaving less room for "bad" foods. If you eat healthy foods - meaning foods high in vitamins and nutrients and are flavorful - you will find that you want less of high calorie or empty calorie foods. Having a variety of foods that you like and want to eat makes it easier to maintain any changes you make to your diet.

When making any changes to the way you eat, do so slowly and don't criticize yourself if your changes take time to become a habit. Study after study has shown that making small changes is what counts. One change at a time will be easier to accomplish and stick with than making a lot of changes all at once. Every little change you make will bring benefits to your health and your waistline.

Here are some changes you can make one at a time that can give you quick weight loss results:

Eat breakfast

A lot of people skip breakfast. This is a big mistake if you are trying to lose weight. Studies show that those who do not eat breakfast will overeat later in the day. Also, eating breakfast gets your metabolism going, and so whatever is eaten in the morning is metabolized better. If you are not a breakfast eater, try a fruit smoothie or other nutritional shakes.

Drink water

Try to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day. Ice water is best because it will speed up your metabolism. Water is, of course, calorie free and flushes out fat. And lastly, drinking water about a half hour before eating will curb your hunger and will make it less likely that you will overeat.

Add vegetables

Adding vegetables to some of your favorite dishes is a good way to get in some extra servings of veggies every day. Some examples are: sauces, soups, omelets, sandwiches, and salads. Of course, vegetables make a great snack by themselves or dipped in low-calorie dressings.

Try to eat more salads

If you're anything like I used to be, as soon as I heard the word "salad," I would immediately think "boring!" That is until I figured out how creative one can be when making a salad. Try adding new vegetables that you haven't tried before or adding boiled eggs, strips of grilled chicken, cheese, and/or nuts. Keep fresh lettuce and spinach leafs on hand, and remember to go easy on the dressing or make your own healthy salad dressing. A healthy and great tasting dressing is mixed olive oil and lemon juice.

Go veggie - only eat vegetables, fruits, pasta, rice, bread etc but cut out meat and fish. Always buy low fat/low calorie foods whenever possible and keep your portions small. Eat little amounts more often to help stave off hunger pangs. Watch how much sugar/carbs etc you intake. Keep active - do the housework, go for a walk -do something that burns off calories and keeps you away from temptation. Always bake, grill or boil foods, never fry them or coat them in oil and remove any fats where possible. Finally - do allow yourself treats - like a fun size chocolate bar or glass of wine - but only have the one.

It will require willpower - but anything is possible if you want it badly enough!

Good luck!

Try going high fibre and low fat. Eat a min of 22gms of fibre a day and restrict your fat gms to24-28. If you are over 160lbs then allow yourself the higher end of fat gms, but as you lose weight you need to lower your fat gm intake but never go below 23gms. Drink at least 1.5L of water. Not sure of your disability but walking and weight training are good too. Even without exercise, you should still lose some weight if you follow the above. Pay attention to labels. Try to aim for between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. Eat three healthy meals and make snacks non-fat or low-fat and don't eat after 7pm unless it is very low cal and very low fat. Write down everything you eat and drink and you will be surprised how quickly things add up. Good luck to you. It worked for me. I lost 13lbs in 6 weeks and still losing.

Try slimming world, there is bound to be a local club...its only £10 to join, you get all the free books & diet plan when you join then just phone & tell them you cant come anymore the following week. Follow the diet & buy some scales or get weighed in the chemist for practically nothing & only weigh yourself once a week. Try and get a friend or relative to join in with you coz it really helps to diet with someone. Also swimming is brilliant excersise & very esy no matter what your size is.

Slimming world definately works...i lost 70lbs in 6mnths !

Good luck x

In the UK??

SEE YOUR DOCTOR.

1. You can get good advice on nutrition and exercise, which will fit in with any health problems you have.

2. The doctor can now send you to a diet club.

Don't worry about it - do something. I'ver lost 50lbs over the last 3 years. It's hard and sometimes I put on but I just keep going - do it for yourself and don't give up,

Good luck.

See a nutritionist. Start slow in exercising. Eat veggies you do like but keep it varied, try new ones. Eat lean meats, whole grains, high fibre foods.

I think the best thing that you can do is go to the doctor and tell him how you feel and if he wont help get further advice or help from another doctor.
A quick fix wont help you although Ive used reductil and that's helped me alot it makes you feel full so you dont feel you need to eat so much but people get side effects from it and not every one can use them.
