They could just be packed in there so tight there isn't alot of room to move around. Of course, the obvious thing is to have her checked out by the vet. But, if you are concerned, at least give them a call and see what they tell you.

If you think she's that far along and you still can't feel the puppies then you may have lucked out and she may be having a really small litter. At night when she's sleeping they will usually sleep on their side just lay your hand on her tummy and leave it there for awhile and you should feel something, or maybe she's not as far along as you think. My last litter was 3 puppies and it took me forever to be able to feel them. I have found that my females don't start producing milk until about 3 or 4 days before they welp. Something else you can do is check her temp. a dog's temp is usually between 101 and 102, when it drops to in the 99's she should have the puppies within the next 12 hours or so. So no worries, I'm sure everything's fine!! Good Luck, hopefully you'll be around on welping day to help her out!!

If you feel concern take her to the vet, they should be able to tell if anything is wrong. I think dogs are pregnant for like 9 weeks, so if she's that close and she has a lot of puppies in her then they most likely can't move around a lot. If she is a large breed, you might want to have the vet check for water babies (they're is a lot of fluid in them).

The mamma dog knows. Is the mamma dog acting any different. My 2 cats just had kittens and I could never feel either one of their babies move. They are fine. I couldn't always feel the puppies move when any of my dogs were pregnant.
Just watch the mamma dog closely and see if she is acting any different. In pain wise. If she has a greenish discharge take her to the vet immediately. If there is no discharge and she is acting normal then they should be fine. good luck
