I believe everything in the Bible is literally true!
People act like the Word of God says they will act, and the world
operates like God and Jesus mention in the Book.
If nothing in it was true/correct (as scoffers say) how could this be?
Why do preachers have power within my soul, and the world's
"preachers" make me feel empty, when I hear them? I used to
feel sick to my stomach whenever Bill Clinton's voice came on
the radio or TV!
2 Peter 3:2/following (KJV):
That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. ...reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
Scared, unbelievers? YOU SHOULD BE!

So far, the "answers" are about what I expected-not anything that I haven't
already heard (about a thousand times).

Do you hate your mother and father? You're supposed to, you know.
Never mind. You sound like you hate everybody.

Like many books of prophesy that were inspired or dictated to mankind by deity, it is true in it's most basic form, or in spirit as some would say it. The Bible has it's mistranslations, intrepretations by man who is infinitely fallable, and blatant falsehoods added in by those who wanted to hide or obscure something in particular.
Add to that those who take parts out of scripture and interpret them out of context, and you end up with a good many confused people claiming the same thing, but disagreeing with eachother constantly over what that thing is.
When any text has been translated as many times as the holy works have, there are bound to be mistakes, no matter how correct it may have been after having been translated the first time from the language of deity through the fallable mind of man.
To answer you, the holy works of the faiths of the world are true, even if their origional meanings have been mangled over time, the base facts and truths are there, and I have no doubt that you can see and have regularly seen the signs of at least a few of those truths in your daily life.
I am however, concerned with your seeming violent atitudes towards those who do not beleive the same as you do, and your need to go against what Christ preached by trying to prostelyze. Mayhaps you should read the book in it's entirety the next time you pick it up. Taking peices of something out of context and quoting them is the surest way to mangle the meaning of a thing.
(I would also suggest a different text than the KJV, as King James's translators had several problems with the text and he was asked to decide what the bible said in many instances.)

Jesus had a great message, but so do a lot of equally valid men throughout history. It is simply not possible that the book you refer to as the bible is the bible as originally written even - any christian scholar will tell you that - it can't be word for word "correct", and it isn't meant to be.
The only preacher worth watching is Joel Osteen - he has the most positive voice for christianity out there today. All the others make me sick to my stomach and Bush truly scares me - i have a very bad feeling about him. I am not being contrary, this is how I honestly feel.
Peace!

Because you want to. The Bible is full of contradictions. To start there are 2 Adam and Eve stories in Genesis. In one the animals come 1st, in the other man does. The 4 Gospels don't match up, for example in Mathew, Mark and Luke Jesus is an adult when he overturns the money lender's table. In John, Jesus is a child. To believe the Bible is infallible is to not read it. Don't believe all the preachers words, read the Bible for yourself.

The Bible is truth. You just keep believing in the Lord. Do not let the ones who disbelieve sway you. He is true and real, people would prefer to believe a lie than the truth. This is also in the Word of the Lord. Anyone who believes in the Lord is scorned as an idiot. Really as long as I love my Lord and He loves me I don't care what they do with this world. They will only go as far as God lets them. You keep the faith, fight the good fight and you will be rewarded. Words that are babble to unbelievers.

Not scared at all. Why would I be frightened of a fairy tale? The boogy man hasn't scared me since I was nine, and neither does god. How's oblivion grab ya, though? I mean if you really sit and think about ceasing to exist for a while. Honestly, what's scarier? And I love how you say you have some sort of evidence, and then provide none. Well done, you're the paragon of your beliefs.

Of course the bible is true, and I believe in what everything is written there.
Now look at many that are answering to you, they have become part of what the word of God says.
For they have eyes and cannot see, and ears and cannot hear.
Because they have become blind to the word of God. The person that look like Bart Simpson's father is one of them. He can't not see what you just have vision in the word of God.
For the word of God is not for everyone, only those that are chosen.
I'm glad you could see that and keep your faith in the only one Lord Jesus Christ.

It depends on how you view the bible. everybody can read the bible, or even memorized it by heart, but nobody yet actually understands it. That's why can group people and called themselves religion which means belief-not really true. people suggest meaning to words in the bible. using it for their own personal agenda. whether it for power, fame, mostly personal satisfaction-feeling of loss-death or divorce break ups, wants to feel to be a part of a group.

same reason some people INSIST their horoscope is right on target and believe in astrology.....
Humans are needy for something to believe in .... some choose to make the Bible real in their life... some make the stars their god.....
God gave mankind a brain with the assumption he would use it. Many people refuse to use their sense of reason. I prefer to take all factors in consideration when coming to a conclusion.... for some reason people following the Bible refuse .......
