Because He is sovereign, His will is extremely important. Let's say you worked for a king who you really admired because he had high morals and always made good decisions. Suppose he requested that you come to the palace, as he wanted to discuss your career path. Would you want to follow his agenda for you, knowing that it would ultimately be beneficial? You would know (because he told you) that he would reward you with blessings if you did what he asked. So the will of your king matters greatly in your life. It's pretty much the same with God.

It's not "gods' " will, it's the will of those who are telling you what to beleive.

Probably because you're afraid of making a decision for yourself.

Oh, no! if you made an independant decision based on observed facts, you might actually have to do something for someone other than yourself
