For the people who are in school, (Middle School, or high school), how do you get good grades? Like, what do you do for getting get good scores? And how do you keep it up? I'm in vacation, but when I start school I want to get very good grades, around the 80's or 9'0s. Don't take me wrong, I am not failing school or anything like that. I just want to improve my grades. But I want to find a good way to study,do home work, and be very successful in school.
ANY TIPS?

I'm going to be a junior in high school at a college prepatory private high school and my GPA is a 3.94. I have some tips and I hope that I can help you!

1. Do your homework! Many people think that it's OK to skip a homework assignment now and then and just study extra hard for the test. IT'S NOT! Not only does homework count for a grade in many classes, but the tests are built on what you learn in class - and homework helps to reinforce what you learn in class. Skipping out on homework may not only hurt your homework grade in the class - it will almost always affect your test grades as well.

2. If there is something you don't understand, ASK! Many people, especially junior high and high school students feel intimidated by their peers in the classroom. Don't let this stop you! If you have a question, ask as soon as you think of it. Teachers do not want you to fail. They are there to help you and want to see you succeed. If you do not feel comfortable asking questions in front of the class, write down any questions you think of as soon as you think of them and either talk to your teacher after class or ask if you can set up an appointment after school to ask those questions and get help on things you don't understand.

3. Take notes! When a teacher writes something on the board, there is a reason why. When a teacher emphasises a special fact or says "You'll need to know this," or "Remember -," make sure you write it down and study it before the test.

4. Pay attention in class! Just listen, take notes, and pay attention!

5. Study before tests! Review all notes, read (or skim) over any reading material, and review everything that will be on the test. Ask yourself possible questions that you think will be on the test and see if you know the answers. If you don't, find them out!

6. If none of this works, ask your teacher for extra study guides, or ask if there is a possibility of getting a tutor. Ask your teachers if they recommend any specific students in your class who they think would be willing to help you. Sometimes just having a peer explain it helps a lot.

Hope this helps! And good luck this fall!

You already know.

Good attendance.

Pay attention in class.

Sit up front so that there are fewer other students between you and the blackboard to distract you.

Take notes. If the teacher writes it on the board, you write it in your notebook. After school, transcribe the notes you think are going to be important.

When you first get your textbook, leaf through it. Look at all the pages.

Keep up with the class in your textbook. If the teacher says, "we're working from chapter 5" then, by gum, read chapter 5.

Go to your local public library. If you see another textbook that's on the same subject as your class, check it out. Read its same corresponding chapters, because its slightly different way of presenting the information might stick with you better than the way your textbook presents the info.

Always raise your hand when the teacher asks for an answer and you know the right answer.

Always do your homework. Neatness and completeness count.

Make sure you bring pens, pencils, and paper to class. Every day. No exceptions.

If your class allows use of a calculator, bring one.

If the teacher says, "for extra credit..." then do the extra credit.

If you "just don't get it" then you're going to have to ask someone who does for help. Check your parents too. One of them might be able to help. If your teacher has an "office hour" after school, then go and ask for help.

I'm just finished my freshman year with a 4.3 GPA.
@ First of all, make sure you never miss an assignment. By atleast guessing you have a chance.
@ Ask for help. If you don't completely and fully understand something, ask questions until your comfortable with it.
@ Study. Even though you feel like you may know all the answers, you might not. Never a bad idea to go over everything again.
@ Pay close attention. Teachers tend to give you all the answers in discussions, during reading, review, ect. Listen take notes and obsorb everything you can.
@ Take honors/AP classes. Even though you have more work it's well worth it. You can maintain a perfect 4.0 GPA and get a B in an honors class.. But if you get an A in honors and all A's, you end up with it being higher.
@ Everyone is smart enough to be a straight A student. You just got to understand.

First thing. I forget a lot of stuff, so I will do just a little of my homework during lunch or during break, so I get the feeling that there is less to do. I would love to say I don't procrastinate, but I do. I really pay attention in class, and I ask questions. This makes it so that even if I don't study, I will know most of the materials. However, if you want to get A's and B's, I suggest you study. Eat breakfast, get rest before tests, and don't stress! Form a study group and make sure you have friends in your classes. Ask for their numbers and call them if you need help. Also, do a little extra research sometimes. Go above and beyond what the teacher expects. If they say to have at least 4 sources give 6 or 7. This will put you over the top!

I get A's and B's. u could try to get easy A classes, but that wouldn't help u in the future (I think). 4 me, it just comes naturally. There's probably a million little things people who call themselves experts will say, but I don't listen 2 any of what they say, cuz that just slows me down. 4 example, one of them is to have the light source coming frome the opposite side of the hand u write with. It's probably made up. just work hard and don't put things off. That's wut kills my grades. I don't study or start projects until the last minute. And also, NEVER bring ur writitng projects in late, cuz the teacher will think u r a bad kid and he/she can grade the future papers u write however he/she wants. I know cuz it happened 2 me in 6th grade. plus she was racist against Arabs and Muslims.

Too me high school was a joke. I didn't get great grades but as soon as I entered college I got amazing grades. It made me realize high school isn't so much about learning as it is teachers trying to keep us busy... so do the work study their ridiculous tests and don't skip school. It's all about getting into college.

If possible, sit on the front row in class to avoid being distracted. Take lots of notes and use them to make your own "test questions", then take your tests over and over until you know the material. You can also do this with flash cards. Good grades take lots of time! Good luck! It will be worth it later.

I don't ever study. I even do projects like a day or so before they're due.

I guess it just comes naturally. Try paying attention, taking detailed notes, staying organized, and I guess things should be just fine!
