My family says I am a great cook, but I can not make a thing in a stainless steel pan. Non stick is the way to go,plus easy clean up is an extra perk.

I've used both non-stick and stainless steel. And while non-stick is great at first, sooner or later the finish will start chipping and peeling off, and the pan will be harder to clean than stainless steel.
And stainless steel doesn't stick that badly, if you know how to use and clean it.

Dishwasher safe? Yes, the hotter the better. Restaurant kitchen dishwashers use temeratures near the boiling point to kill any residual bacteria.
If you want to retain the non stick properties, you can use a spray on non stick substance, such as Pam, but remember, you are adding an ingredient to your recipes. Best replacement for Teflon pans is good old fashioned cast iron. The stuff has to be properly seasoned and takes special care, but works nearly as well as non-stick.

I use stainless steel cookware and like it a lot better than non stick. I put mine in the dishwasher, but read the manufacturers recommendations before buying new cookware.

Have you considered cast iron? Not just fry pans, but pots also. They are heavy, but well worth the price and the time to season them.
