If you never cut your hair, it will grow to the floor, but if you never shave your pits...?

how come your armpit hair doesn't grow down to your knees? How does your armpit hair know when to stop?

Every hair on your body has a life cycle. Say the hair on your head will grow for six years, then stop and probably fall out soon after that. No matter how long I go without a haircut (other than a short trim), my hair has never grown past right above my waistline. My mother-in-law has never had her hair grow past her bra strap location...
Your armpit hair will only grow so long, like men, they never shave their legs or armpits or anything...it wil only grow so long because it all has a certain life cycle.
That's also why if you wax or lazer your hair, it takes a while for the hair to go away and never grow back because you have to kill it in every stage...

Actually most people can't grow their head hair to the floor. It's just not strong enough before it breaks. I think that's probably similar to what happens with your armpit hair. In my family the women have hardly any body hair, but lots of thick head hair. Just in the genes, I guess.

The texture and kind of the hair on your head and armpit are different. The hair on your body except the hair on your head cannot grow that far.

Because it had a growing problem in the past. It used to go out to parties and grow til it puked and passed out on the floor... eventually it grew so much that it peed in its best friends fridge and decided it had to get a handle on this growing problem. So, it went to Growers Anonymous meetings and had to call all the people that it had hurt with its growing and apologize.So, It decided to start to growing in moderation. "Its ok to grow, just know your limit"
