guandii was always popping (hip hop music), and windows (also plays hip hop) at the jing'an temple subway stop is great for cheap drinks (10 kuai drinks..woohoo). bar rouge on the bund offers a great view as you sip on some yummy drinks. babyface sometimes hosts some really good dj's...so you might want to check that out. pegasus has hip hop thursdays which can be good...fridays bring in a very young crowd (teens) so i don't suggest going then. i hear that recently fabrique has a good hip hop saturday night, but i can't back that one up myself. mint was pretty good, but have only been there once.

try to find a "that's shanghai" magazine, there should be a ton of listings in the back for clubs.

good luck, and have fun!
