Typically you should get married in your state because the brides family normally pays for more of the wedding

But it's up to you guys, if more of your family can travel then his, then go there...

Or maybe meet in the middle if it isn't too far, Where do you guys live now, where are your friends from?

Traditionally couples get married in the bride's hometown - however this is only because the bride's parents usually pay for the affair. I would say that first of all, you should decide who is paying for the wedding and get their input - after all, it's not exactly fair to demand that someone pay for the wedding plus pay to fly out to the destination. Even so, some parents are willing to have it wherever their child wants it.

Another idea would be to get married where you are now. Do you live in either of your home states? That could be a starting point. In my experience, parents and older relatives can afford to travel for a wedding but friends, especially if they are younger, don't have the extra cash.

Good luck finding a place!

Traditionally, weddings take place where the bride lives.

However, you can have what is called a "travelling wedding" where you get married in one place and have 2 or more receptions. You can pick a place to get married - and then have a reception following and then have another one after your
honeymoon at another place.

So, say you get married in your state - have a reception with family and friends there and then have another reception in his state for family and friends who couldn't make it to the ceremony.

I've been to several receptions like this - where the couple gets married in the bride's homestate, but they have an extra reception where the groom lives.

If you want a big wedding - do it in your state. Weddings are for the bride and her mother.
If you want a small wedding, fly to your honeymoon destination and get married on the beach. Then have "receptions" in both states when you get back so your friends and family can celebrate with you.

If you cant decide just think about meeting each other half way maybe that way both side of the families will not mind flying only part of the way to a nice location where you will all meet an celebrate.

it depends on how old you are, who is paying for the wedding, and where you will reside after the wedding.

if you and your boyfriend are going to get married and pay for most of it, i would say, do it wherever you will end up living after the wedding...

if your parents are going to help out, do it near your parents...

Wherever you want. If you can't decide, choose another state that neither of you are from. You could get married at your honeymoon location to save money also.

Try somewhere in the middle so both families are certain to attend. Make sure you both agree on thr place...pick it out together.

Where you are going to live, or where there is the most family. You can pick the easiest for you.
