if his medication is a pill, then roll it up in a piece of American cheese. Then the dog won't think anything of it, eat the cheese, and the pill!!

If it is a liquid, there is no easy way--open his mouth and as quickly as possible, pour the medicine down his throat and make sure it goes down so it doesn't come back up!

Good Luck and I hope your German Shepherd gets better!

If the medicine is liquid, then put it in an eye dropper and lift his upper lip in the back of the mouth, and squirt the medicine in that way and hold his muzzle until he swallows it. If the medicine is in pill form, put it in cheese or alittle bread and peanut butter (small, but big enough to cover the pill) and give it to him like a treat. Hope it works out.

that's a very mature German Shepherd. you ought to prefer to confer inclusive of your Vet about the thanks to make him smooth now that he's elderly or maybe if there are any supplementations or drugs that ought to help him get round with a lot less discomfort. try to be feeding him something very solid because he's 15 and in basic terms in the near previous having issues getting round. this is great. yet do not feed him milk like someone reported or replace his weightloss software until eventually the Vet recommends it.

When dogs are ill their bodys tell them to rest everything that includes the stomach. You might try a lil chicken broth with a spoon and just give him some every hour or two. Or maybe if it goes on a while some chicken breast hand feed til he feels better..

Make certain he drinks well, and give him the meds in a spoon of peanut butter, just stick the pill (if that's what it is) inside the PB and then slide the PB against the roof of his mouth. He can't spit it out. :)

Pretty normal for a pet not to want medicine, we as humans don't want medicine either. LOL Maybe you can mix it in his food or you might have to force feed it to him. Ask the Vet for his suggestions also.

Is the medicine a pill or capsule? If so, then just wrap it up in something he loves, perhaps a piece of cheese or bologne.

I'm sure he will be fine, give him his meds and make sure he drinks plenty. He will eat when hes feeling better. Hope he gets well soon!

He will be ok for a while not eating. Just monitor his drinking so he doesn't dehydrate.

If it is a pill, stuff it into a hot dog...I have never seen a dog turn down a hot dog...
