I have been reading some other questions and I can't help but get a little upset. It seems many 'christian' people are fiercely against homosexuals. I respect that everyone has a right to their own opinion, but how can people that claim to live a life for God have so much animosity in their hearts? I see where people blatantly admit that gays should burn in hell. Are these the feelings God would want us to have towards other human beings? Gay marriage is illegal, and I know I'm opening a can of worms here, but if it is illegal because of moral and ethical reason and the bible says it is wrong, then why isn't divorce illegal? Don't you think divorce is affecting our country just as much, if not more, than homosexuals? And why don't we just condemn everyone we consider a sinner? How about the wealthy, shall they burn in hell too? The bible clearly states that no rich man shall get to heaven. Before we choose our stones we should realize that we're all in glass houses.

Love people, hate their sinful actions. Unfortunately, many Christians (particularly on this website) don't understand this concept. The world would be a much happier and peacful place if everybody lived by that rule.

I completely agree with you. I was actually forced onto catholiscism when I was 10 until i was 14, due to a bipolar mom. but it was a very different world for me they were so mean and nasty to me because i didn't understand their beliefs. now that i am older I guess you would say I am agnostic. For the most part i keep my beliefs to myself.
But as for these "hateful" christians, I think they lose the message in translation. Because didnt the bible say he who is without sin shall cast the first stone? And where does it say in the bible that it is our job to purge society of the sinner and sins. Our responsibility lies in purging ourselves.
Then you would have christians claim Soddam and gamorrah, but was it man who smited them? NO, it was god so why not leave the whole homosexual thing to god. I think he can handle it. And why don't we all just worry about our own demons. Who knows if he we took care of our own issues maybe there would less turmoil in the world?

you would think so wouldn't you? those people who criticize and tell others they're going to hell take the "word" just alittle too seriously. they believe they know god and understand what he means from what the bible says. there are a lot of things in the bible that contradict other stuff said in the bible. example? god commanded to us that we shall not kill right? why then did god kill so many people in babylon and the great flood? as I recall, he killed first, then came up with the commandment not to kill. fair or is he just a hypocrite

I'm sorry you are a bit convused the bible does not say no rich man will get to heaven just it will be harder for them. but you are right in that christians should not condem others and never hate any one. even those who have murdered your family. we are all sinners and rely on Gods mersy that goes for Gays the same as the rest of us

Please note that the Bible does NOT say no rich man will go to heaven. It does say that it is easier for a camel go through the eye of a needle (which was small gate the required camel's to kneel to get through) then for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. But as camels can make it through the small gates, so can rich man make it into the kingdom.

You have a very good point. At least if a same sex marriage ends, there are less chances of bewildered children being torn between their parents and wondering what they did wrong.
You will see all sorts of christian hypocracy and double standards on here. It has really opened my eyes.
I was always tolerant of them, even when they bashed my own beliefs, but now I show them none.

Like I just said in another answer.. Christians sin and we sin alot more than even we would want to. WE murder (get mad without cause), we steal (covet our neighbors property), we commit adultery (hold lust in our hearts).. What we don't do is live in these sins day in and day out. Give up the living in sin and see God's grace and join all the rest of us that are God's works in progress.

Too many Christians fall into the category of "remove the LOG IN YOUR OWN EYE before getting the splinter out of your brother's eye."

Jesus died for everyone. Jesus had agape for everyone.

If we are to follow Him, we must have agape for everyone. That's just the way it is, speaking as a fundamentalist Christian you understand.

No where in the New Testament does it say YOU CAN'T get a divorce.

No where in the New Testament does it say YOU CAN'T remarry.

No where in the New Testament does is say, a rich man CAN'T go too heaven.

It is rather obvious, you have not a clue what The Bible says.

Good Luck.

I can only speak for myself and what I believe.

I believe that, as a Christian, we should LOVE... That's what Jesus wants us to do.....love each other......not have sex with eachother (unless you're man and wife).

It's not that I dislike homosexuals as people. It's what they "do" that I'm against. Sexual activities should only be done between a husband and his wife.
