I just burned the my mother's wok as i forget to switch off the stove. Now the bottom of the wok is black colour. Anything I can do to save the wok and save me from my angry mother? Lucky the stove is the electric type.

Your mother is lucky to have a child who is interested in cooking. Just explain to your mother what happened. Let her vent, promise her you'll never do it again and then watch her take care of it. If it's a steel wok it's pretty durable and probably it's not warped-- only discolored. That should not change the way it cooks the food. (You should see the really blackened and ugly woks in the Chinese restaurants and they use them all the time.) She'll probably scrub it with a steel wool pad, dry it, then season it before putting it away.

You can either buy a new wok or scrub the bottom of the wok really well.

Use Barkeeper's Friend, it comes in a gold canister similar looking to Ajax. Then get a good scrubbie sponge and work away! It might take some elbow grease, but I find it's the best when I accidentally burn my stainless steel cookware (it works on other metals as well, just not nonstick!)

Hmm if its stainless stell you should try a brillo or sos pad and scrub with the grain of the steel. The grain or direction is very noticable if it is stainless steel.
I have also put soapy water in a blackened stainless steel pot and heated on the stove to boiling and then emptied it and scrubbed with SOS or Brillo.

i imagine the issue is that you're not from now on living your own existence, and also you pick to. even as it may well be astounding to have your mom's approval, you do not pick it. and he or she's telling you quite bluntly you're not from now on going to get it. So take the lesson and flow on. provide up in search of approval from her. provide up doing issues that you imagine she ought to approve of. provide up wondering she 'ought to' do some thing. deal with what's, no longer what should be. Your mom will be who she is. the only ingredient you could administration are your thoughts in route of her. let your thoughts bypass. they're only conserving you decrease back. Your existence is your own. What do you pick to do with it? in spite of your answer is, do it. do no longer do some thing because you pick approval. Do what you pick because it is what your heart is telling you to do. purely be warned that when your mom sees she no longer has a carry on you (like she does now) she will be dissatisfied, allow you to understand you're throwing your existence away, you're not any good, and so on, and so on, and so on. keep in suggestions to only let your thoughts bypass. do not waste a even as arguing (she wins in case you do) and do not waste a even as feeling undesirable (she is who she is). purely keep living your own existence and do not become in touch contained in the drama.

It's fine.
Woks discolor, it's how you're supposed to care for them.
They need to be seasoned with hot oil on the inside and then gently washed and immediately dried.

the black soot is carbon, it should come off with a little scrubbing...but you couold try to use a mild abrasive like baking soda and lemon juice mixed together to form a paste....
