I used to have a great brownie recipe but lost it when redoing the kitchen. I cant remember it well but it was quite simple. I have searched the web but can only find really complicated receipes or recipies using American cups, which I don't have - I live in England and need either pounds and ounces or kilograms and grams.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?

This recipe has been in my family ever since I can remember. It may not sound like it - but it's the best chocolate cake I have ever had. WACKY CAKE 1 1/2 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoon cocoa 1/3 cup melted shortening or oil 1 tablespoon vinegar 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup cold water Preheat oven to 350°F. Sift dry ingredients into a 9 x 9 inch pan. Mix well. Make 3 holes, one for vinegar, oil and vanilla. Pour water over all. Mix well with fork. Do not beat. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Leave in pan and frost while still warm. WACKY CAKE TOPPING: 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/4 stick butter 1 1/2 tablespoon flour 1/2 cup coconut 1/2 cup nuts 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

You'll have to find a converter for the measurements, but here's a recipe I use for brownies:

1/2 cup shortenning (I use butter-flavored)
2 1-ounce squares unsweetenned chocolate
3/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup broken nuts (walnut or pecans. I consider this optional.)

Melt chocolate and shortenning together over hot water, then cool.
Sift together flour, salt, and powder. Beat eggs until light, then stir in sugar.and chocolate mixture. Add flour mixture, vanilla, and nuts. Pour in greased 8x8x2 pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes.

I've found that a little cherry juice adds a fine rich touch to the brownies.

You will need:

4oz butter
2oz plain dessert chocolate
2 eggs, beaten.
8oz granulated sugar
2oz plain flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
4oz chopped nuts (optional)

Melt the butter and chocolate over a bain marie and take off the heat, quickly stir in the rest of the ingredients and spread into a greased and greaseproof paper lined tin measureing 7in x 11in. (Bring the paper a good 2in above the rim of the tin.)

Bake in a preheated 180C oven for half an hour until its shrinking from the sides and springy in the middle, (a knife should come out clean but do not overcook as it will firm up as it cools.

leave for 10 minutes and divide, before transfering to a wire wrack.

Hope this helps as the results are great if you get it right.

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aMCBi

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Buy a container of Hershey's baking powder, and use the recipe on the back. It is the best, and very easy to do. Do they have that in England?? (***me deep in thought***)

Pillsbury makes a great brownie mix. All you do is add water, oil and egg (I think) and you're good to go.
