I flew from Vancouver, Canada to Sydney, Australia, and I had a carry-on bag full of things to do... a brand new book, puzzle books, pencils and don't forget an eraser!! A stack of postcards to send to my friends and family, which I wrote out on the plane and mailed from my stopover in Hong Kong. And I met a lovely family on the plane, and spent a pleasant couple of hours playing "Go Fish" with a four year old... completely depends on what you enjoy doing. Obviously not everyone can converse with a small child, but it made that couple of hours fly by!! Good luck and have fun.

Well, most of the long flights have several movies, meals, and music. You can bring a gameboy, some magazines, books, something to draw on, your own cd or mp3 player, etc. I generally find that the time goes by fast and there is always something to do. If you have a craft project that doesn't require scissors or any sharp objects, that's good too. Have Fun!!!

Go to the book store and buy a book. You are going to need the rest when you get to China due to the time change

Crossword puzzles, logic puzzles, if you like them.
Read a good book; I recommend "1776" by David McCullough.
Chat with an amenable neighbor.
Write letters that you've been putting off.
Read up on China.
Take a nap.
Have a great trip!

i've done lots of those China trips (being chinese). What I usually do is watch the movies they have available, they're decent sometimes. I also usually bring books and video games to waste my time. Finally, I sleep.
