I think honesty is important but if the relationship is also important if there are things that could hurt them why tell them if it was in the past ...now the present is a totally different thing honesty is the best policy

You can be completely honest if you want to be an idiot. Nobody needs to hear the minutia that runs through another's brain. Sometimes we have thoughts that are fleeting, but could really hurt another person. There are plenty of things a partner doesn't need to know. Especially things from the past that don't have anything to do with what is going on now. It doesn't mean you have to lie. Just keep certain things to yourself.
And here's a tip for the men: if a woman in your life dresses up and tries to look nice, she looks beautiful. Always.

I've always been a believer in "honesty is the best policy". If you have to lie in order to stay in a relationship, is it a relationship worth staying in? really if you lying because your scared of screwing everything up, then the other person isn't truly for you because they should accept you for who you are and your faults. Remember the truth always has a way of coming through lies, and inevitably that will screw everything up anyways, so why not just tell the truth and save your integrity and the integrity of the relationship

It is possible to be completely honest with your lover. If you truly love them, then they will accept you for whatever you might have done. It may cause tension between you, but they will be happy you told the truth. If you lie to you girlfriend/boyfriend and they find out about it, you may have just ruined your relationship.

It is very possible to be completely honest and it is the only way to go. Why lie? I hate liars? Feelings get hurt in life but it hurts more when you LIE!!! I have and will always be truthful with any and everyone I deal with....I have NEVER regretted it.

Nothing wrong with being honest because you're trying to deal with everything truthfully including your feelings, your fears, and your needs. It is the tone of the voice and the way you say it. its very very possible though difficult.Ive always been a believer in the concept of tell me the truth even if it hurts id rather find out from you than someone else and one way or the other the truth always comes out.So stick to the truth its easier and you wont have to try to keep track of what you say.
