My girlfriend of 2 years still talks to her ex of 4 years. At the beginning of our relationship, I wasn't comfortable with it and she had stopped. Later on, she started talking to him again and explained to me that they were doing so only as friends. Recently, I had asked her if I could meet him and she had told me that both he and she are not comfortable with that (not now atleast)... I don't keep in contact with any of my ex's, but if I did I wouldn't be shy to let her meet them. She tells me there are no feelings lingering, but why so hesitant for me to meet a friend? I know all of her friends, but why not him? Something still going on?

it sounds like there could be; and you have a point! if he is just a friend, then you should be able to meet him! It seems like she is hiding something from you and you should ask her! She should understand how you feel, but tell her again what you think is wrong about her talking to her ex and how you dont like it! During this though, think about her point of view too! but jsut make sure that she introduces you to her "friend"

I don't think it's out of the question to be friends with an ex. It depends on the circumstances surrounding the break up but I would not be at all comforted by the fact that "both he and she are not comfortable with that (not now atleast)!!! What is that??? I don't know if that is exactly the way she said it but if it were, it sounds like a she's talking as if they are still a couple. Maybe I'm wrong but I would be concerned. I may be ok with it or be able to live with it if it was all above board (meaning you meet him as you would any of her friends). The fact that they are not comfortable with that makes me uncomfortable. Maybe he's the one who is apprehensive but if that is the case, she should be more concerned about your feelings than his. I would tell her that I'd like to meet him and if that's not possible, I'd like her to stop seeing/talking to him and if she refuses, well, there's your answer. Good luck.

Wow I can definitely understand your suspicions. I would be suspicious too. I believe there is still something there between the two of them. It is never a good sign when someone feels it is necessary to hide things from you and in this case your girl is hiding her ex. Why? I think you need to be very careful in this relationship! Do you trust her?

I wouldn't worry about something going on, but you need to talk toher and tell he rthat you don't understand how if he's just a friend why you can't meet him and just go from there, but it sounds like you need to talk to her

It is strange that she won't let you meet him.. Tell her you are totally uncomfortable with the situation till you meet him.. Then when you do meet the guy, go with your vibes and see what their chemistry is like. BUT if she does NOT let you meet him... let her go.
