You can no longer download any updates, other that critical updates, for microsoft software unless you can prove that your copy of windows is not bootlegged. If it is not bootlegged and you are having trouble the call microsoft for help.

If its asking for a verification # you may be running an illigal copy of Windows, if thats the case you wont be able to download the update

If you enable automatic download in your security settings it will your PC will download it on it's own.
