my step dad does drugs and is verbally abusive towards my mother and me. i know he doesnt mean to be that way, but it hurts me and my mother. i dont think he has ever hit my mom or anything, but he does hurt her feelings alot. i moved in with them a few days ago, so that maybe he would take his aggression out on me. I know it wasnt probly the best decison, but i did it. What do you all think i should do to better the situation?

Sometimes words hurt just as much as being hit. People that use hurtful words and try to demean others usually do it because, they feel bad about themselves. Those bad feelings are only made stronger by the drugs. He may be just verbally abusing your Mother now but, chances are he will sooner or later get physical. Please take your Mother and get out of there.

get out of there!
if he's already verbally abusive the next thing he'll do is be physically abusive. You can't help your mom if she wants to be in that kind of relationship. You can only help yourself by staying away. I know it's going to be hard but there is nothing you can do to change a person that abuses and is abused if they don't want to change. I'm sorry you're going through this, good luck

kick the step-dad to the curb- it took a while for me to realize that a verbally abusive relationship is just as bad as a physically abusive one- if he is not willing to get counseling- then he needs to go- no ones integrity is worth sacrificing for another person- he's an adult he knows what he's doing is wrong- if he wont change then you need to change being around him- if your mom can't see the obvious- then there is nothing you can do- but you don't need to be there just to take the weight off of her shoulders- she's old enough to know right from wrong as well, and if she wont leave him, because she loves her child enough to get them out of that situation- then I am sorry- It's hard to go thru- but you need to do it- take care good luck

TALK TO YOUR MOTHER AND TELL HER THAT YOU DON'T LIKE HER BEING HURT AND THAT YOU WANT HER TO LEAVE BEFORE THINGS GET WORSE. TELL YOUR STEP DAD HOW YOU FEEL
