"How can genetic and physical diversity in humans be explained?"
Even though I'm Christian, that's the exact problem I have with it. The conclusion? The Adam & Eve story was written to demonstrate God's power, the destructiveness of sin, and provide an answer to the question "How did we get here?" to a group of people who would find the creation myth completely believable at the time.
Of course evolution is a part of the human history.

Not evolution, but speciation. The genetic code contains an immense amount of information. As the genes of two people combine and form a new person, some traits are dominant, others are not. Sometimes, a child will get the same trait from both parents, and therefore cannot pass on any other versions of the trait to their offspring.
Lets consider, for example skin colour. gene A gives light skin and B give dark skin. Say the mother has genes AB and the father has BA. their offspring would have a combination of those traits. While both parents have genes for light and dark skin (resulting in a middle color), their offspring could have skin of any colour.
When traits are lost from a population because they haven't been passed through the genes for a long time, you end up with a population whos traits are different than the original population. This sub-group is a new species. This process can occur very rapidly, especially if changes in environment favour one gene set over another.
This is not evolution. Evolution requires new genetic information to be added to the genepool. As far as humans know, there is no natural process, though humans can do it through genetic engineering, that can do this.
The total genetic difference between any two people is less than 0.01%. Despite physical appearences, there is very little difference between humans, and the difference that is there is the result of combining traits that already existed.

If the Adam and Eve story is to be believed...?
How can genetic and physical diversity in humans be explained?
Go ahead, say it with me now...evolution. LOL!!!!
Apparently God left you out of the loop.

Actually, there are two stories of creation.
Jewish desert dwellers in what is present-day southern Israel told a story around campfires about the creation of the first man and first woman. The story they told, and passed on to generations of future desert dwellers, described a pre-creation scene much like the desert landscape in which they daily struggled for existence. From the dry desert dust the Creator forms a man and breaths life into him, and then places him in a beautiful oasis-like garden, abundant with fruits. The Creator takes a personal interest in this first man, and sets about trying to find him a suitable companion. When none of the creatures He first forms provides the man the comfort He had hoped, the Creator makes the first woman. Everything goes well for a spell, in the story told in the desert, but then the Creator is disobeyed and bad things start to happen.

Depends on what you mean by evolution. Imagine that when God created Adam and Eve, he gave them a ton of genetic and physical diversity in their genes... And it would get reduced and more specialiezed as people reproduced more. Eventually, you get the different races and stuff. Makes more sense to me than saying that mutations, which are harmful in all known circumstances, could do it.

The Adam And Eve story in not meant to be taken literally. It´s an allegoric tale about morality. Evolution is a whole different story.

The diversity comes into play at the tower of Babel, but you were close to revealing the answer to your own question. If you recall, Adam and Eve fell into sin. Sin changed the world and our bodies show sins effects. We just have to look in the mirror, do you see any scars or wrinkles? The ugliness found in our bodies is evidence that you are a sinful human being in need of a Savior. Thanks be to God that he also gave us the solution to our sins in sending his Son to live the perfect life, bear our burdens in death, and raised to life again to declare hi victory over sin, death, and the devil.

User "Ask Me" says that wrinkles mean sin?
Does that mean that the Pope, who has a whole lotta wrinkles is just a Gigantic Sinful old bastich, who's now in charge of the whole show?
If wrinkles mean sin, then why don't they make babies Pope? You can't get much more innoccent than that. If God wants to speak, wouldn't it be more convincing to say it through a 3 month old who can't speak at all. If I saw a 3 month old come out and give a speach to a crowd of 50,000 I'd start believing in god...

Don't cats have litters of kittens with different colors? God created Adam and Eve with the genetic code for diversified offspring.

Actually.... inbreeding. A kid is born, a slightly different kid is born, they make another kid who's a combination of differences, etc. Over time, due to nutrition patterns and soforth, groups of people begin developing different traits than others. This isn't evolution, it's adaption; noting new is being created, what's already there is being enhanced or atrophying.
