Yes, we enjoyed it when we were there. Its a small island that is kinda arid and its windy/breezy all the time. Aruba is a very nice place to visit. It has great beaches and hotels and plenty of nice restaurants. It also has a few casinos in several of the hotels. There is not much to do in Aruba other than beach stuff. You can tour the island in half a day; you’ll see the lighthouse, a national park that’s kinda like wilderness, a cave with some petroglyphics, and a natural bridge where the water comes under it and washes onto a small beach. You really don't need a car in Aruba, there's not that much to drive to see. You can easily take a public bus to town from the beach areas. There are lots of water sports in Aruba including jet skis, snorkel and scuba, parasailing and wind surfing and just lounging on the beaches. The casinos are nice, but small.

Of all the ports of call in the Caribbean, Aruba stands out when compared to a lot of me-too destinations. There is a nice shopping area just across the street from where the ship docks. Renting a car and driving around the island is easy, scenic and inexpensive. Lunch at the poolside restaurant at the Hyatt Regency is first-class.
Aruba just seems to us to be a lot more "civilized" than some of the Third World islands typically found on cruise ship itineraries.

Aruba is a unique and interesting island because just in from the beach it is desert, dry and rocky with cactus. It is a nice place to visit, but there isn't really anything beyond the beach. The water is very clear and the snorkeling is great. It is a good place to stop while on a cruise, but there are a lot of nice beaches that would cost less to travel to otherwise.

I wouldn't spend a nickel in Aruba. It may be a nice island, but if guys can make girls dissappear and the government doesn't solve the crime, why bolster their economy? Go to St. John! A beautiful island, an American protectorate, and most of it is unspoiled state park. Trunk Bay is the best beach I've ever been on.

If you want cheap go to the Dominican Republic or Jamaica. If you want nice go to Grand Cayman or Aruba.
Aruba has perfect weather, with only 20 inches of rain per year, a vacation in Aruba will not get rained out.

For the money I would suggest going somewhere else in the Carribean. Aruba is very expensive for what you get and considering the lack of action when the Halloway girl disappeared they obviously have a corrupt government and don't care about what happens to foreigners on their land....I wouldn't suggest it. If you want to travel to one of the Dutch Islands I would suggest Curacao which is the next island over.
