I have seen many instances where someone asked a question about someones beliefs and then still refused to accept that that is what they belief. I do not understand this. I accept that what a person says they belive is what they believe. I wonder if anyone really wants to know or if they just want to run people down for their faith or lack or it.

I did not ask if you believed it too only if you accept that that is what they believe.

i think that some people may actually really want to know. Other people want to know if more people believe what they believe and rather than letting the people who don't believe what they do have their own opinions and leave them alone about, they have to say a comment that isn't necessary. When answering a question out their about religion, we are putting our own beliefs on the line, i would never bash anybody who didn't believe what I did.

I answered a question and it was ask why does people put down other religions when they dont know what they believe. Well I answered I would see what they believed and man what I found so far. I think if I spend my time in researching something I have a right to voice what I found. Not sure if that person liked what I had to say but shouldnt ask someone to research their belief.

Very few, but I try and accept the negatives but focus on the positives of life. So I think one out of a hundred is still worth the effort. And who am I to know which ones do and which ones don't.
It is most productive to access why you haven't gotten through someone. This makes you a better communicator. Either way you gain, even if they don't.

What some of them really want is someone to agree with them.
I've seen many answers judged best, not because they answered the question, but because they restated the questioner's belief as stated in the question.

People are often petty and closed-minded, and quite a few like to pick fights, especially with touchy subjects like religion. It's like asking someone if they like a specific band, already knowing they do, just for the opportunity to make fun of them for it.
Everyone wants to be the star of his/her own little world, and other people that don't believe the same are threats. Hence, they have to find those people and do their best to bring 'em around to their way of thinking.
T'is a sad way to live, if you ask me.
Ironic, eh?

I believe some may really want to know, others are being sarcastic, others need psycological help I think, takes all kinds I guess. I wish they were being serious and looking for genuine help as there are many lost sheep to be found. But genuine help can be found.

A question could be rhetorical, nothing wrong with that. We ask something that we may know already but would like other people´s opinion on the subject, nothing wrong with that either

I don't do THAT, but I do ask a lot of questions that I already know the answer to, just to see different points of view or to see if anyone knows the answer.

I REALLY want to know. read my question and say what you will about it but my intent was to see if those who claim to be understanding and free thinkers could actually see themselves in this situation. As you can see from the responses, majority of which were retarded close minded responses, no one really understood the meaning of the question. think about it. those who love and worship god do so and would gladly obey his every command and order without question or hesitation right? he is your god, that's what you were brought up believing right? well, hypothetically, if he were to be not who you thought he was, would you still obey him? would you carry out his will without question? this was what I was trying to figure out but apparently the question drifted passed everyones critical thinking function of the brain and immediately went to childish a*sshole mode.

I may not agree with their religion but it is certainly their right to believe any way they choose. Everyone seems to interpret the Bible differently.
