There isn't a true religion. There's only a true faith. We just get to choose the religion that has the wright teachings. An actually it's not the religion. It's the church we choose. You have to read the Bible to see how should a church and it's pastor be, so it would be after God's heart. I'm a baptist for example. But I've also been in other baptist churches and I don't think God was delight with that church. I've also been in Pentecostal churches and I could feel God's presence over there.

Because religion was created by the devil as a way of deceiving mankind into following the path to hell.
Suffering is evenly distributed because Satan wants everyone to suffer.
He promises Heaven, but how many people have actually been there to say it exists? We are all just here worshiping whatever false idol religion we happen to worship, thinking it's our ticket to heaven. But ultimately landing us in hell.
I like your questions Keep them coming.

Well, we are all subject to life on this earth. Everyone no matter their religion. I do believe LDS have more blessings than any other relgions. Does that mean no one else has a good life? No. Do I believe you must be a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, received your endowment and been married in the temple to inherit the kingdom of God, and that no other religion will bring you those blessings? Yes.
Read Doctrine and Covenants section 76.

A better religion would be one about the next life, which is eternal, rather than this temporary one. If we all followed the true religion, we would be better off; we'd live in a world where everybody held to a sense of morals. There would still be crime ad suffering, due to humanity's flawed nature, but there would still be less.

What makes you think suffering is evenly distributed?
Some religions have much more wealthy members.
I think you will find differences in longevity, too.
I think you will find differences in happiness, too.
Bahais seem very happy in general to me.
also buddhists.
I know unitarian universalists tend to have more money and education than others.
I think you will find lots of research on this sort of thing.

Suffering shouldn't be your measure of a religion. The Lord sends rain on the just and unjust alike.
Rather look at how the different people deal with suffering.

Wars are fought over your question and bookshelves are filled to capacity with attempts to answer this question. There is no "true" religion because religion is not based in fact...it's a leap of faith (boy I sound like a Christian, Muslim, Jew, etc). Now, would I place my faith in a God (if there is one) that allows the levels of suffering and strife on our Earth to occur...NO I WOULD NOT. Much as I am misguided I place my faith in HUMANITY and not some unseen and unproven entity known as God. I respect those that do place their faith there because it's just as misguided as mine. In the end though I just live respecting myself, others, and the environment. CHECK OUT WWW.UUA.ORG. PEACE!

Evangelical Christians, according to several studies by prominent medical journals, rank among the happiest people on the planet. Some sects of monks who meditate most of the day fall into the same category.
Choices we make determine much of our circumstances. I.e, we overeat and we get fat.

Statistically, people who go to church weekly are happier than those who don't.
Certain religions attend church more often, pray more often, and live healthier lives and therefore are happier. The Mormon Church has the highest weekly attendance followed by the Evangelical Churches.
