I agree. And the thing is, I bet most of us say something along the lines of, 'life is short, live it to it's fullest' and here we are answering each others questions! We get up in the morning, have a shower and get ready for work, we then go to work and spend the most of the day's daylight in work. By the time we get home, have a shower, and eat our evening meal we have to get things ready for work the next morning. Once we have done that it's late and we need to go to bed so that we can get up on time for work! We don't have time to live life to it's fullest - my mortgage will not pay itself, but what free time I do get I'm sat here answering useless questions!!! lol

Now i dont pretend to be an expert but I think you need a little pick up and I dont mean drugs. By the sounds of it you need to become comfortable with yourself and surroundings and enjoy what is around you. I have felt at times that I need to step back and look at life from someone elses eyes. I have found that if you savour a moment it makes you understand who and what you are. If you can wake up when the sun is about to rise (set your alarm especially) and find a place that is quiet preferably in a garden away from people and close your eyes use your senses to feel a cool breeze before it becomes hot. If you can pick up anything else such as different noises. Another way is to sit on your own outside a cafe buy a drink whatever you like and watch the people walk by, you will be watching them going to work or rushing off to do something else psychologically you will be stopping time. Try it!

Why do they seem pointless and meaningless to you? I personally find them confirmations of a mind that is thinking, questioning, and seeking, that is willing to look around and ponder - these are attributes far greater than staring at a tv, playing a video game, or being destructive. Anytime the mind is engaged in processing of data, it is using more of your bodies energy and chemical releases that actually lift and build up your well-being. This is not a sad existence at all - it is actually a hopeful existence that not all of mankind has resolved themselves to allowing others to think for them.

I know what you mean. I can sit here for five or six hours searching for answers and formulating theories of life, love, sex and death while trying not to get involved in the shallow wars of fundamentalist Christians and atheists. It can make me feel claustophobic and sick. Meanwhile, life passes...

What is wrong with you? Your life has no meaning that makes any sense to you and you feel lost. Either you're depressed or you're in denial of your own depression, the former is more likely.

Mouse had some nice advice for us both x

Mostly I try to give an answer to the pointless questions. Jesus. He is the answer to everything. The Bible is the book of life.Let Him in, read the book, get a meaningful life. Jesus loves you.

It's far from the worst thing you could be doing with your time.

It's not hurting anyone now is it?
