Its only safe to do it twice a week if the iron is ceramic. That way it wont break your hair. The best way to do it is small sections starting at the bottom and working your way up. Put your in a pony tail while your working with small sections.

Oh man, make sure that when you use the CHI straightener that you use stuff to protect your hair first. I use to have cosmetology and we learned about the CHI iron. When they demonstrated, they used something from Biosilk. I honestly can't remember what it was that was used but it was a spray. I wanted to straighten my hair that day so some guy in class said he can straighten it for me. He did NOT use the chemical that was demonstrated and the CHI iron burnt my hair. My hair smelled burnt for days. It got extremely frizzy and out of control. I had to cut off my long hair all the way to my shoulders and that still didn't get all the burn off. Be careful when you use this please!!

I suggest you wash and blowdry your hair then straight iron it, start from the bottom of your hair and work in small sections working it from as close as you can get to the root (without burning yourself) to the tip, concentrate on the ends if you have thick hair because if you don't they will crimp and become frizzy, I think you can use it twice a week I straighten mine daily just be careful with the heat setting. Use a little bit of frizz ease after your done.

i just bought the chi flat iron what i do is (i have thick curly hair) is i divide my hair into sections and straighten each section at a time, It is okay AS LONG AS YOU MAKE SURE to apply a hair protectant spray first and deep condition your hair to prevent damage i cannot stress this enough cuz once u have damage it is a pain in the booty to fix it also make sure to get regular trims (6-8 weeks) to get split ends cut off.

Dude try nutra renew! I have thick curly hair but i straighten it out. With nutra renew your hair doesn't get that damaged even if you straighten it a lot. I know i sound like a commercial but it works. Use your own brand hair straightener (doesn't matter) and nutra helps make the straightening easier faster and protects the hair.

Try Kiehl's heat protecting straightening lotion. You have the best straightening iron, so just use it with Kiehl's and you should be fine.

Try straightening by hold pieces of your hair(like when you curl your hair with curlers), don't do one giant piece at a time.
