love is a decision; no real love is fallen into. You can indeed make the decision to love someone at first sight, though God knows why you would. If you don't believe me that it's a decision, consider all the difficulty in being a parent - does the parent just decide to leave the kid in difficulty? Hopefully not. In the same way, view love as a verb, not a noun. So yes, but that would be silly.

I think it's just attraction, and maybe it pans out and maybe it doesn't. I did not fall at first sight for either of the two men that I fell in love with (later) although they were handsome. However they both said that they fell for me right away at first. Guys are more visual.
Love has no rules though. It would be so much easier if it did come with a few....

Love at first sight is lust, you have to see if anything more is there once you get to know the person. I felt the same about my boyfriend and I just kept thinking that it was too soon to feel that strongly. We are now 10 weeks into the relationship and my feelings are only getting stronger. I wish you the best and just enjoy it and be happy.

was with me. Been married to the same wonderful man for 7 years. It was love at first sight. You have a gut feeling when it's the one.

It depends on a person's personal definition of love but for certain people I'm sure that they do feel what they interpret as love upon the first sight of someone.

No, the idea sells fantasy novels and cheap magazines, but in reality it's simply one pair of gonads calling out to another. She or he looks "hot" and the normal human response on the part of the other is "I want that!" Love is not, nor has it ever been, something that bursts upon a couple full-blown, fully developed and mutually agreeable. It is a state within a relationship that grows over time. If we waited until we were truly "in love", we'd not marry until in our forties at least - so although sex appeal and love are really two quite different emotions, it turns out that marrying because "I wanna piece of that!" isn't really a bad thing.

There's lust at first sight. Love develops when you really get to know the person.

There is no such thing as love at first site. There is LUST at first site.... DON'T believe me? Take this test. You walk into a bar...you look to your left and see a Slinder Blonde in a tight nice fitting red dress and high heels. and you look to your right...and see a heavy set woman (230lbs) on the other side of the bar. Who would you approach first? The big lady? Or the slinder good looking blonde? For the ladies....replace the women with guys.
