It would probably be easier to start with why smoking should be legal. I can't think of any reason at all especially considering the residual effects to those of us who don't smoke and never have. It just seems like a 100% money making venture with no redeemable benefits to anyone.

It shouldn't be illegal because this is a free country. If I were you I'd say smoking should be illegal in China (a communist country) because they have the right to tell their citizens what to do and that smoking is bad for the people's health and environment.

There are so many laws in the US governing all kinds of toxic chemicals and who can and how to use them. We can't even use certain kinds of strong insecticide for heavens sake...but people can smoke unrestrained and pollute the air....and we do nothing about it. Doesn't make sense to me. I think my right to LIFE, LIBERTY and the pursuit of (pollution free) happiness is more important than someone's right to get high and damage their own body and pollute the air for others to breathe.

it shouldn't be illegal. I hate smelling cig smoke but it's not my place to tell other what to do with their own health. I'm glad it's outdoors only in CA and a few other states... but still it's none of my business.

Hm...yes, smoking should be illegal...and while we're at it, let's make alcohol illegal...'cause people who drink and drive kill people...hm...or, say, let's just go ahead and make cars illegal...shoot, let's make eveything on the planet illegal...seems to me that no one wants to have any kind of freedom anymore anyway...

It should be illegal because there are chemicals in the cigarettes, like tar, which could harm you.
