I never had a problem with any of my 5. They hate dirt (unless there's a bunny chase involved) so keeping the "den" clean isn't hard to teach. The major problem you might have is the "foul weather exemption clause" they TELL you "oh no I don't have to go out in the poaring rain & mud (or cold & snow)" and if there a small accident in the spare bedroom, well that should be perfectly undersatandable. In bad weather you just have to learn that the "sorry hun, you go out even if you don't have to go" rule applies. Then they pee fast & run for the door ;-)

I have a Whippet mix and she was super easy. In fact she was easier than my cats! My Italian Greyhound was the biggest pain in the @ss! He is the most stubborn animal I have ever tried to housebreak. It worked eventually but it took months.

No, it just depends on the family history you could say, my whippets are fine except one who hasn't gotten out of the habit and once in awhile leaves a present in the hallway for us, but that is because we got her at 3 years old, but whippets as puppies are an easy breed to potty train as you might say.

Hey "gogitem gang" of whatever that name was, what do you mean "sheeeesh" ?? Is that a gracious thing to say? She didn't say Whippets were small. She thinks they look like IG and maybe act like them with respect to housetraining. Unless you read too quickly and thought her word "similar" was the word smaller . . .
I don't think she needs to read standard, but maybe some etiquette standards on your part . . . Now be nice and don't make people feel/look stupid for asking a question.

Most of mine have been very easy. I live in the north and winters are cold. They would prefer to just potty inside in the winter, so I monitor them when its cold and make sure they go. They usually learn to go QUICKLY!
They are clean dogs and I think rather easy to housetrain. I have had a couple I have had to physically PUSH out the door when it was cold or wet.

dogs are creatures of habit. Keep doing the same things with them, they will learn...reward good behaivor, punish the bad... they are your animal, and they will learn... I dont think size of the dog would have anything to do with it... only the owner
