No! They're quite good actually...very bitter and work well in bar drinks and even on Ice Cream. They were and still are used as a medicinal remedy for an upset stomach and have a secret ingredient that is not mentioned on the labelling that only a few limited number of people at the company are privy to. You can buy it at the Grocery Store.

Hell no; they´re great tasting.
Try a Pink Lady: Gin (or even better: Dutch Jenever) with a few drops of AB.
By the way, originally they were made in the Venezuelan city Angostura (now Ciudad Bolivar), but today they are made in Trinidad.
