You will get a lot of smart answers like "OMG BUSH IS NOT THERE AND HEALTH CARE IS OMG AWESOME!!!!!1111!!11"

Canada is very unpopulated and larger than the US in size. Its a nice place to go. Nova Scotia looks great

They are always looking for immigrants.

"Canada is a frozen hell, with a growing terrorist problem. The terrorists find it easy to go there and plan stuff. Even though there have not been any terrorist acts commited there, Al Queda did put Canada on the "list", so its only a matter of time until something big happens, especially now that the conservative party has taken over government there. Yep, the libs were voted out, just like in the USA.

To answer your question, its best only because its easy to immigrate there. Not a lot of immigration hoops to jump thru. Berlin is the only easier place easier than canada that I know of. Berlin has no immigration laws and you can just go there, no paperwork."

One word: WHAT?

Because Canada is a conservative government terroist will reign free? Didn't you hear how canadians actually caught those terroist a month ago. Canda has a muslim problem(like in Europe) but not nearly as bad yet (I hope they stop accepting islam-fascist before its too late like France)

Also the libs were voted out? Bush is conservative, you didn't know that you need help

Berlin is a city in Germany btw.

Mounties would be my number one answer. Good looking. Polite. Fair. Good manners. Nice outfits. Red...very provocative.
No trash, trash talking, etc.
Universal health care.
Basic good government.
They used to let American refugees/draft dodgers in. They were kinda neutral like Switzerland. Now they let in so many other foreigners from 3rd world countries thier policies have become stricter. When they were talking about bringing back the draft for a foreign war I don't believe in, I feared for my only child. At the same time I had been denied medical care for years and needed an operation to save my life. I checked out Canada. But they aren't taking newcomers so easily now. I still want to visit.
Clear air, water, etc. Wide open spaces. Kinda like a Dixie Chicks song.
Friendly.
Did I mention Mounties?

They are not a target for violence and they make great beer?
I live in California and people are leaving in droves because the cost of living has passed insane. Some are going to Oregon and Washington state but there are a few going to Canada. They are choosing Canada for a safer environment to raise their kids in.
It makes me a bit nervous in a way. Like as parents, are they tuned into some survival wave I am not hearing because I don't have offspring to protect?
Weird.

Retire at 55 with FULL government benefits, and live in (opps visit) the USA for the best in Canadian government paid healthcare! The Canadian retirees that live (visit) here just have to go home every so often to keep their visas up to date, and their government retirement benefits going. None of them want to live there! It gets buried in ice 6 months a year, and doesn't EVER get warm enough to go swimming without fur suits.

If you emigrate to there, make sure you get a good sized hot water heater for all those hot baths you'll need to keep from damaging your nerves because of all the shivering!

First, you don't "immigrate" to a country...you "emigrate" to a country. Immigrate is when you are coming into a country, emigrate is when you are leaving a country. So before you become an immigrant, you have to emigrate.

I think Canada is a beautiful country, both its people and the land. There are lots of Sasquatches there.

They are pretty welcoming, and let you in the country while they are checking out your asylum claim as I understand it.

It's a beautiful country. I'm there on vacation now. The trees come right down to the ocean, and there is plenty of elbow room.

What's not to like?

Nice wide, open spaces.....not a lot of pollution.....health care for everyone.....not a lot of illegal immigrants from America.....its a long way from Bush/Cheney/Rove/Rumsfeld.....except for Quebec, they speak English.....those are just the highlights.
