Oh yes, very good indeed,
you don't even need to buy one of those holder that they make for it.
Just drink half to 1/4 of the beer, then put what ever seasoning you will be using into the beer and give it a little mix.
and tehn rub some of the seasoning on the outside of the chicken.
place a sheet pan or cookie sheet in the oven, and place the chicken with can up it's butt on to the pan, and cook at 350 for about an hour to and hour and a half.
You can also do it on the BBQ, just put the coals on 1 side and the chicken on the opisite side of the coals and leave it for at least the first 45 min. then chack it about every 15 min.
the skin gets nice and crispy and with beer up the butt the meat will stay nice and juicy.

It is the best chicken you will ever eat, very moist and juicy and you can use soda pop like sprite or even fruit juice. It just has to come in a can that the holder will fit over. The can goes under the holder and the chicken goes on top. You wash and oil the chicken with olive oil, rub spices on the outside and I usually put some into the can as well. You roast it on the grill for about an hour or so depending on the size of the chicken. I am from Texas and there we call it "**** *** chicken", no offense intended.

I make beer can chicken all the time. It is the best chicken ever. I bought one of those stands that is made especially for the job from Walmart. I use a Cajun dry rub on my chicken. I have also used the beer can and drank the beer :) and put half a can of wine in it the can instead. I add crushed garlic and rosemary to the can with the wine. When I make the beer can chicken with the wine I rub the chicken down with pepper, salt, garlic powder and olive oil. Whatever you decide to rub on the outside it is best if you put it on in advance and let to marinate in the refrigerator a bit before cooking it. You will get a lot of complements! Enjoy!

It's really good. The chicken doesn't taste like beer it just keeps the chicken from drying out. Try pouring out half the beer (or drink half), add some liquid smoke and any spices that you prefer and put on the grill until it's brown (about an hour for a small chicken)

OMG are you serious it's great the meat on the chicken comes out extra juicy and it's not at all dry...They actually sell teh beer can /chicken stand at walmart it holds the beer can and you sit the chicken on it , it doesn't fall over since it has a mini grill with handles on the botom sells for 6 bucks.
You can still baste your chicken anyway you want to the beer just makes it juicy and very flavorful..

It's awesome. season your bird With what ever you want set it on the open can of beer(I have a rack designed for it, that cost a buck at Walmart) , put a Jalepeno in the neck to stop it up, and cook it over indirect heat in your charcoal grill for 45 minutes to an hour. Using a cherry coke, or sprite works instead of wasting good beer is good too.

It rocks, and for a tasty variation, try my Cantonese Can Chicken.
Rub chickie-baby down with soy sauce, a bit of dark sesame oil, and about 1-2 tsp. of Dragon Rub, found in the seasoning/BBQ section of larger groceries. Place a can of ginger ale in the magic spot, and plug the top with whatever (garlic clove/hot chile/knob of ginger root) and set on grill to cook. It's great, and leftovers (good luck!!!) make the world's best salad addition.
