8 ball. I think 8 ball is more of an Australian version and 9 ball is more American and Canadian. I'm not saying people in the US and Canada don't play 8 ball but majority like 9 ball over there unlike here. Aussies seem to like Snooker or 8 Ball. And i don't have a rating for yahoo if that's what you were asking :) But id probably suck.

Nine ball....too much thinking in 8 ball.....9 ball to me is more of a skills (ability) game while 8 ball is more like a "chess" match...running out 9 balls requires a lot of ability to do so by staying in line and always staying 3-4 balls ahead in your thinking.....eight ball since you have so many balls you could get out of line and still run out....but it is a chess game....too much thinking for me.....it truly is a chess match......I am a the "Dennis Rodman" of pool....I will play defense if there is the slightest I can"t run out.........and besides that I really can"t run out.........MY RANKING?.....don't know what ranking you use....but if you play baseball.....I would be a 275-300 hitter.....if you bowl I would be a 180-190 bowler.......either way you want to rank me is OK........I will probably continue to strike out in this game also.......I love pool!!!!

8 Ball! Atleast it requires more skill than 9 ball which is more about luck!

8 ball. On Yahoo, my rating is somewhere in the 1400's, I believe.
